A Report On Simulated E-c Consecutive Interpretation Under The Guidance Of Context Theory

This report selects the interview video Kai-Fu Lee: Artificial Intelligence(AI)Superpowers as the interpretation material.Its content mainly focuses on the development status and future of artificial intelligence.After simulated interpretation,the interpreter encounters many difficulties,such as interpretation of polysemic words and compound adjectives,which need to be analyzed according to the context.Thus,under the guidance of context theory,the interpreter analyses interpretation of polysemic words,compound adjectives and other difficulties from linguistic context level,situational context level and cultural context level respectively.It is hoped that the objective factors related to context,such as time,place and environment in situational context,can be used as a reference for the interpreter in interpreting,so as to better make the interpreted translation consistent with the target language,suitable for the interpretation occasion and easy for the reader to understand.From the perspective of linguistic context,interpreters need to take language features and lexical collocation norms as references to obtain interpretation in line with the target language;from the perspective of situational context,interpreters need to take the objective factors of situational context as a reference,to be more specific,the topic of interpretation,from which the interpreter can obtain interpretation that conforms to the interpretation situation;from the perspective of cultural context,interpreters need to take the differences between different cultural contexts as reference.Such as language expression habits which are inconsistent in different countries.Therefore,interpreters need to pay attention to these differences to avoid misunderstanding in interpretation.Based on the above,the interpreter can avoid some interpretation problems to a certain extent and ensure the quality of translation.From a theoretical perspective,this report hopes to provide research ideas for relevant reports;moreover,from a practical point of view,it can provide some references for interpreters in dealing with relevant problems.Through this report,the interpreter has a systematic understanding of the interpretation process,a deeper understanding of the context theory,and the interpretation ability has been improved.
