The "Latest Standards for English Curriculum for Compulsory Education" released by the ministry of education in 2017 put forward high requirements for the English vocabulary of primary school students,and there are many problems in teachers’ vocabulary education and students’ active learning.As a result,many researchers have developed researchers on English vocabulary education in primary schools.Famous scholars at home and abroad have conducted research on vocabulary acquisition from various language skills,of which listening and reading are more studied.This study conducted a three-month experimental study of 135 primary school students in three nature classes of E Primary School in S City.Using questionnaires,experiments and interviews,the researchers used the Vocabulary Knowledge Scale,the Primary School Vocabulary Learning Questionnaire and the Target Vocabulary Test Paper to have a better effect on the learner’s accidental vocabulary acquisition in terms of vocabulary form,meaning and vocabulary memory.This wants to motivate teachers to teach through the teaching mode of listening and reading,so as to help primary school students greatly improve their word acquisition and improve efficiency,and provide some constructive advice or inspiration for the current topic of English vocabulary teaching in primary schools.Using teaching experiments and data analysis,the reasons for this study were found that listening and reading input can promote the learning effect of English vocabulary in primary school students.Among them,listening input has a better effect on the acquisition of word forms acquired by vocabulary;in vocabulary acquisition,reading input has a better effect on word meaning acquisition;reading input has a better impact on vocabulary retention.After the end of the experiment,the researchers proposed that teachers should pay attention to strengthening the learning of their own theories in daily English teaching,and try to achieve better teaching results by exploring new teaching methods and media when students encounter difficulties in learning.This experimental study has the following teaching implications for the current primary school English vocabulary teaching: First,English teachers should pay attention to the combination of listening or reading when teaching vocabulary,so as to better promote students’ English vocabulary acquisition.Second,in daily English teaching,we should broaden our learning methods and make reasonable use of various media,so that students can achieve high-quality and efficient learning results in English vocabulary learning.
