Gradual Elightenment And Meditation—Two Paths Of Yangming’s Cultivation Theory

According to the textual research,Yangming revealed the eight sentences of four "You" and four "Wu" when he was teaching the Tao in Tianquan,as a system of discriminant teaching.It is Yang Ming’s final summary of his life’s psychology.The key to distinguish between four "You" and four "Wu" lies in the ontological interpretation of "no good and no evil"."No good and no evil" is the transcendental characteristic of noumenon.Under the background of "one source of body and use",the noumenon of "no good and no evil" will inevitably unfold the "perfect good" atmosphere.Therefore,the theory of four "You" only focuses on the clarification of the ethics of good and evil,and the noumenon of "perfect goodness" is the learning of the future.The theory of four "Wu" is the priori science of realizing transcendence and stands on the noumenon of "no good and no evil".However,the development mode of body use under the representation of "Siwu Theory" does not have a time path corresponding to it.Therefore,Longxi and Shuangjiang respectively absorb the time discussion that Yang Ming has not developed but is suitable for their own theory,and clearly stand up the "gradual realization method" and the "meditation seeing nature method"--two priori paths to seek the realization of transcendence.Different from the general impression,Longxi jumped out of the eloquence of "Tianquan Zhengdao" and returned to the mode of physical evidence under the "four-sentence teaching method",and chose the "gradual realization method" as opposed to the "Epiphany method".The basic form of the practice of "gradualism" is the imitation of the popularity of truth under the theory of "four imitations",and takes the ethical development of "perfection" as the practice field of its transcendence.The root is that there is no detail or order of time beyond the noumenon,and the uncomprehended can only simulate the "top-down" cycle of authenticity while seeking the "bottom-up" realization.Compared with the serious orientation of sincerity effort,the conscience-making effort,which is more suitable for development and application,is more in line with the atmosphere of four "Wu",and thus becomes the main practice mode of "gradual realization method" imitation behavior.However,the theoretical premise that conscience time exists in conscience cannot be accepted.To this end,Long Xi proposed to "remind conscience" and "put down all" while giving detailed instructions to ensure the legitimacy of the practice of "gradual realization method".In essence,in his exhortation,the method of gradual realization inevitably leans towards the method of seeing meditation.Finally,longxi promoted the detailed quantification of "gradualism" on the level of noumenon and time with the advocation of "a little lingming" and "the micro of one thought".Generally speaking,rooted in the mind,neo-confucianism in the ontology level of understanding is different,sitting time is divided into two kinds: Neo-Confucianism adhere to the "body" isolation,must be added to the external time to seek and internal transcendence resonance suddenly through,this system of sitting time also does not allow direct transcendence,but only to maintain the "hypocritical" attitude of self-restraint;The concept of "mind body" of the mind school not only tries to preserve transcendence but also gives the possibility of body knowledge.Therefore,the method of seeing the nature of meditation is the internal path of body knowledge transcendence after isolating the finite and integrating the subject and object.The problem is that there is a tension between transcendence and physical knowledge,and the limited isolation of perceptive meditation means that it must ultimately point to something in order to achieve physical proof.Compared with white sand,Yangming’s theory of "non-sense body knowledge" can not successfully remedy the descent of the body,but also weakens the standing of the time path.Therefore,Yang Ming abandoned the method of sit-meditation for academic reasons,and covered up the sit-meditation time of his professors by attributing it to the nature of relaxation.Different from the general cognition,Yang Ming formally taught the method of spontaneous meditation in the eighteenth year of hongzhi.After that,Yang Ming advocated the method of spontaneous meditation as the first righteous time,and explicitly abandoned it until the fifteenth year of Zhengde.After Yangming,Shuangjiang held the meditation method of insight,and stated clearly "entity" for the cultivation path.The realization of this method of "spontaneous occurrence of phenomena" is the realization of the realm of four "Wu".
