From the perspective of the philosophy of life, this paper attempts to dig and sort out the historical background, theoretical origin and basic content of Kierkegaard’s philosophy of life, and on this basis,to analyze and explain the influence, significance and theoretical limits of his philosophy of life.In the 19 th century,Denmark was faced with the double crisis of rationality and faith.Under this background,Kierkegaard accepted Socrates’ Hominology turn and focused his research on human life and human survival. At the same time,he absorbed Pascal’s account of the mind and faith, and argued that truth can only be reached through internality.Under the influence of German Romanticism, combining with his own unique life experience,he formed his unique philosophy of life. The theoretical concern of Kierkegaard’s philosophy of life begins with his emphasis on the problem of existence.Traditional ontological philosophy and epistemological philosophy have neglected the problem of human existence for a long time, which is the starting point of Kirsch’s philosophy of life.He specifically analyzed the predicament of individuals in survival, such as the anxiety and nothingness that individuals fall into, which are the problems of his philosophy of life.In order to solve the dilemma of individuals,Kierkegaard analyzed the survival communication of human beings.Human beings complete the introspection and manifestation of subjectivity through the communication with themselves, and embody the infinite passion in the paradox of belief through the indirect communication with God.Finally,Kierkegaard puts the realistic purpose of the philosophy of life in the realm of human existence and the subject’s choice.Through the analysis of the dialectics of existence,he makes it clear that the truth of subject’s choice is the subjective truth and the goal of subject’s choice is to become "the individual".Kierkegaard’s philosophy of life had a profound influence on the western philosophical trend of thought. He created a kind of existential orientation and existentialist psychological paradigm, which provided theoretical reference for the development of later existentialist philosophy,Chinese survival philosophy and Hominology. His resistance to reason and affirmation of subjectivity provide theoretical reference for realizing the modernization of man himself in contemporary China. However,it must be pointed out that Kierkegaard’s philosophy of life relies too much on belief and lacks reflection on modern cultural system,so his philosophy of life still has a certain theoretical limit.
