| The source text of this report “Purposeful Interpersonal Interaction and the Point of Diminishing Returns for Graduate Learners” is written by Professor Scott Mehall,an assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania at Bloomsburg and co-chair of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society.The language of the article is smooth,logical and easy to understand,helping education researchers determine the ideal PII range,resulting in a more cost-effective curriculum design that helps students achieve better learning outcomes.The translation practice of this report mainly studies from lexical and syntactic perspectives,and systematically analyzes the pedagogical terms,common words,passive sentences and complex sentences in the original text.In terms of lexical translation,the translator adopts some translation techniques to deal with the problems encountered in translation,such as context-based choice of word meaning,context-based extension of word meaning,concretization of abstract vocabulary,the conversion of parts of speech,lexical extension into sentence and four-character phrase to make the translated words accurately reflect the original meaning.In the translation of passive sentences,we mainly translate them into active sentences,sentences with different passive labels and subjectless sentences.In the translation of complex sentences,we applied division and recombination.It is hoped that this report can provide references for literature translation on topics related to interpersonal interaction. |
