Research On The Theory Of Sanqu In The Republic Of China

During the Republican period,as the connection point between ancient and modern China,a series of cultural changes were produced between the transformation of ancient and modern and the transition of old and new.The study of Sanqu theory is part of this.Previously,the Sanqu music research of the Yuan,Ming,and Qing dynasties took the Sanqu text as the research object,while the study of the Republican Sanqu theory accepted literary and artistic theories from the West,breaking the central theory of Sanqu texts in the Yuan,Ming and Qing dynasties.In the complex social context,the Sanqu theory of the Republic of China presents the characteristics of diverse and interdisciplinary theory.On the basis of the central view of the text,the Republic of China Sanqu theory has opened up two other theoretical fields of Sanqu research.The theory of Sanqu performance and the theory of Sanqu music have become outstanding theoretical contributions to the study of Sanqu in the Republic of China.Looking at the current status of theoretical research in the Republic of China period,the research on Sanqu theory is slightly weak.Exploring the theory of Sanqu in the Republic of China plays an important role in enriching the research of literary and art theory in the Republican period.Through the existing historical data in the academic circles,this paper comprehensively analyzes the development trajectory of the interaction between the theory of Sanqu in the Republic of China and modern literary and artistic thought,and the specific theories and cases at different stages,so as to sort out the different theoretical forms of the development of the theory of Sanqu in the context of the old and new times.The paper consists of five chapters,which can be divided into three parts according to the content discussed in each chapter:The first part included the Chapter one,which was the premise of the theory of the Republic of China’s Sanqu theory.This chapter mainly discusses the background of modern Western literary and artistic thought generated by the theory of Sanqu in the Republic of China.As a period of change in modern times,the Republican period has shown a new change under the collision of the two forces of traditional text-centric theory and different theories of modern West.Among them,the scattered study of Sanqu theory has gradually become a specialized comprehensive study.In the literary and artistic controversy intertwined between old theories and new ideas,the study of Sanqu theory no longer focuses solely on literature,but further extends to the theory of Sanqu performing arts and Sanqu music theory.With the continuous maturity of theoretical methods,the central view of early texts,the theory of performing arts in the middle period and the theory of late Sanqu music have gradually developed into the three major fields of research on Sanqu theory in the Republic of China.The second part consists of chapters II,III,and IV,which are specific explanations of the three major areas of Republican Sanqu theory.That is,the Republic of China Sanqu theory advocates that Sanqu is a comprehensive art of text,performance,and music.First of all,the central view of text,represented by "text",is the beginning.The early research on the theory of Sanqu in the Republic of China was mainly based on the traditional Sanqu theory.Focusing on the structure,style and other characteristics of Sanqu texts,more research on the literary nature of Sanqu,and the research horizon also expanded to the branch of Sanqu,the theory of small songs.Secondly,the research on Sanqu theory in the Republic of China began to transform from literary theory to art theory,and constructed a Sanqu performance theory represented by "art".The theory of Sanqu in the middle of the Republic of China mainly treats Sanqu as a theory of opera performed on stage,and takes opera performance theory as its main research object.This turn in the study of Republican Sanqu theory broke the early text-centered research pattern.Finally,the study of Sanqu in the Republic of China takes the music of Sanqu as the research object and constructs the theory of Sanqu.The theoretical research of Sanqu music in the Republic of China focuses on the study of Sanqu,and explores and discusses the musicality of Sanqu.The performance art research and music research of the Republic of China Sanqu are presented as interdisciplinary research between literature and art in terms of research perspective and method.In the words of Liang Yizhen,a scholar of the Republic of China,the study of the theory of Sanqu in the Republic of China formed the unity of literature,art and technology during this period."Wen" represents textual theory,"art" refers to the performing art of loose music,and "technique" refers to the combination of Sanqu and musical techniques.The third part includes the fifth chapter,which mainly reflects on and analyzes the value and practical significance of the Sanqu theory during the Republican period.It is pointed out that the theoretical study of Sanqu in the Republic of China has formed a challenge and breakthrough in the study of Sanqu in the Yuan,Ming and Qing dynasties,and has great enlightenment significance and value for the study of Sanqu in later generations.Among them,it is worth noting that the introduction of Sanqu theory is a subversion of the traditional textual central research.Limited by the limitations of the times,individuals and other reasons,the research on the theory of Sanqu in the Republic of China also has certain historical limitations.However,under the influence of the new theoretical vision of the Republic of China,the theoretical research of Sanqu in the Republic of China dared to break through the tradition,and finally blazed its own unique path,formed a theoretical discourse of its own,created a new world for the study of Sanqu,and formed a more mature theoretical pattern of unified research of literature,art and technology than its predecessors,so that the theoretical research of Sanqu was successfully combined with modernity and became an important content in modern Chinese literary and art theory.
