| With the rapid development of China’s education, the process of internationalization of China’s higher education has gradually accelerated. The standards and teaching quality of many domestic institutions of higher learning have been constantly improved. The government and relevant departments have issued a series of policies that are good for foreign students. As China has a relatively high quality education environment and broad prospects for development, more and more Nepalese students tend to choose to study in China, and the importance of cross-cultural adaptation is gradually reflected. There are many factors that affect the cross-cultural adaptation of Nepalese students coming to China.Finding out the key factors has important theoretical and practical significance for exploring the mechanism of cross-cultural adaptation. It can help Nepalese students improve the basic situation of cross-cultural adaptation at the level of life, and can also enrich academic theoretical achievements. This thesis investigates Nepalese students studying in colleges and universities in Sichuan Province, explores their development status and existing problems in the process of cross-cultural adaptation in China, and puts forward targeted solutions to promote Nepalese students to better achieve cross-cultural adaptation. This thesis selects the cross-cultural adaptation of Nepalese students in Sichuan universities as the research object, and combines the questionnaire and interview methods to deeply explore the adaptation of Nepalese students in China in four areas: social culture,Chinese language, academic learning and psychological emotion.Through the research,we found that: First,Sichuan universities come to China to study in Nepal and survive in some cross-cultural adaptation problems and deficiencies. The overall level of adaptation in social culture,Chinese language, college learning and psychological emotion is low.Second, most Nepalese students coming to China have a high degree of recognition and good evaluation of China’s education model, evaluation system, basic living conditions, etc. However, they do not adapt to Chinese culture, basic living conditions and related behaviors, and their psychological recognition of studying abroad in China is not high.Third, due to the low enthusiasm of Nepalese students to explore and seek knowledge, their cross-cultural adaptation is relatively slow and the overall adaptation is not high.According to the survey results, there are four problems in studying in Nepal, namely, the lack of in-depth contact with Chinese culture and daily life, the unskilled use of Chinese language and characters, the lack of active learning planning and communication attitude, and the lack of obvious effect of emotional counseling and self decompression.Fourth, most Nepalese students coming to China have a one-sided understanding of cross-cultural adaptation. They believe that language, lifestyle, etiquette and culture are the main factors restricting the cross-cultural adaptation of foreign students. In fact, differences in teaching methods, history and culture should be considered. There are mainly two research innovations in this thesis: First, select the relatively special group of Nepalese students to study cross-cultural adaptation, and the number of theoretical research for this group is small. The second is the content and perspective of the study.Based on social culture,Chinese language, college learning and psychological emotions, this thesis conducts a multi-dimensional analysis to explore the problems of cross-cultural adaptation of Nepalese students coming to China. |
