Abstract/Summary:
Before and after the Beijing Winter Olympics,a group of excellent documentaries related to the Beijing Winter Olympics emerged.As a representative of current major theme documentaries,the narrative strategy of the Beijing Winter Olympics documentary will undoubtedly have important reference value for the creation of future major theme documentaries.Since the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has attached great importance to cultural construction,and cultural undertakings and industries have flourished and developed.Documentaries of the Beijing Winter Olympics have ushered in broader development prospects.Documentaries of the Beijing Winter Olympics are at an important time point around this major event,and in-depth exploration of their narrative strategies is an inevitable requirement for promoting the healthy development of the field of major theme documentaries.However,there is a lack of systematic research on narrative strategies in documentaries of the Beijing Winter Olympics.This article will start from how the Beijing Winter Olympics documentary tells the Chinese story well,and attempt to explore the general characteristics of its narrative strategy,in order to analyze the narrative path of the Beijing Winter Olympics documentary.On the one hand,it provides valuable reference and inspiration for the creation of documentaries on other major themes;On the other hand,it plays an important role in exploring the role of documentaries in the construction of a country’s image,and provides some reference for exploring new ways of building a country’s cultural soft power and expanding a new perspective on the international dissemination of Chinese culture.This article uses literature review,case analysis,and content analysis methods,with narrative theory as the starting point.Based on observing a large number of films,it conducts research on the narrative strategies of Beijing Winter Olympics documentary films,and finally puts forward conclusions and suggestions.Through analysis,it can be concluded that the narrative strategy of the Beijing Winter Olympics documentary mainly has the following six characteristics: firstly,skillfully using events and a narrative theme based on "people";The second is the subjective perspective of multi perspective substitution and the narrative perspective characteristics of objective perspective of populism;The third is to use techniques such as concealed suspense and multi angle details to connect the narrative plot;The fourth is to narrate the alternation of past time and present time,as well as past space and present space;The fifth is the narrative structure constructed through parallel parallel thinking and staggered progressive thinking;The sixth is to use audio-visual language narrative processing to depict the image of a great country through images and construct a narrative atmosphere through sound.By summarizing the narrative strategies of the Beijing Winter Olympics documentary,the following three conclusions can be drawn: vertical topic selection,civilian perspective,and diverse means.Finally,based on the problems in the narrative strategy of the Beijing Winter Olympics documentary,the following three suggestions are given: the topic should break the limitations of the field of vision,the story should break away from the repetition of content,and the main body should strengthen regional balance..
