| There were 85 Ningxia governors in the Ming Dynasty,and their origins,sources of appointment,duration of service,and departure reflect the dynamics of this office in the Ming Dynasty.These governors made outstanding contributions to military defense,economy and society,people’s livelihood and politics,and culture and education during their service in Ningxia,and most of them created a large number of writings,not only writing poetry and literature,but also compiling and writing various kinds of bibliographies,mainly in the genre of poetry,prose,and memorials.These writings are mostly related to Ningxia.The poetry is mainly on the subject of the frontier,can be divided into four categories of frontier narrative,patrol notes,landscape lyricism,travel and answer,the style is generous and impassioned,majestic,unique characteristics of the north;lyrical prose involving Ning less,mainly to record political affairs,expressing philosophical thoughts;involving the most abundant clerical,most of the governor during his tenure on the clerical have survived,its content can be broadly divided into border defense,military storage,military,official,education.The content can be roughly divided into border defense,military reserve,military,official,culture and education,and the memorials reflect the many constructive opinions and governance policies put forward by the Ming dynasty Ningxia governor for the development of Ningxia in the Ming dynasty,thus promoting the development of Ningxia’s economic and social stability.Among the successive governors of Ningxia in the Ming dynasty,Mao Bowen,Zhang Jiuyi,and Zhou Guanghao wrote richly,with more Ning-related content,and less academic research,so this paper discusses the three in the form of a special study,mainly sorting out their biographies,examining the content of the editions of their writings,and focusing on the Ning-related content for a comprehensive grasp and analysis in order to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the governors and their writings.By studying the writings of Ningxia governors in the Ming dynasty,we will increase our understanding of the socio-economic and political culture of Ningxia in the Ming dynasty. |
