Vidiadhar Surajprasad Naipaul(1932-2018),as a British Caribbean writer,is flowing with complex and diverse cultural blood.This blood is actually a Caribbean characteristic,that is,the Caribbean writing to be discussed in this paper.This Caribbean writing is most directly reflected in Naipaul’s debut work Miguel Street(1959),which is full of a large number of Caribbean music,dialects,slang and cultural elements with Caribbean characteristics.Facing the embarrassing situation in Britain at that time,the writer was confused and confused about his identity under the impact of multiculturalism.The writer projected his memory and identity of the Caribbean onto the language,customs and personal destiny of the characters in the novel,and closely combined them,so as to reveal the suffering of the Caribbean people and the identity of the Caribbean people in the post colonial era,And the reflection on the writer’s own identity.This paper will discuss from the following three aspects:The first part mainly discusses the diverse and mixed cultures in the Caribbean,which is divided into three aspects: the first part mainly describes the characteristics of Caribbean English based Creole and Naipaul’s development of marginalized creole;The second aspect is the unique Calypso minor in the Caribbean,which mainly describes the improvisation,rhythm and other forms of expression of Calypso minor and the ironic characteristics of minor;The third aspect mainly describes the impact of the unique Carnival in the Caribbean on the characters of the novel.The second part mainly discusses the unique identity of Caribbean people,which is divided into two aspects: the first aspect discusses the causes of men’s mixed identity and their resistance to Identity Ambiguity;The second aspect discusses that women become dominated by men and women’s resistance to identity.The third part mainly discusses the causes and significance of Naipaul’s Caribbean writing.It is divided into two aspects: the causes of Caribbean writing,from the influence of personal experience and social and cultural factors on Naipaul’s creation.
