| Since the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic,the traditional TCSOL model has been seriously impacted,and the TCSOL is facing new development opportunities and challenges.The development of information technology has provided technical support for online teaching.The rapid development of online TCSOL has put forward new requirements for the teaching competence of international Chinese language teachers.Pre-service international Chinese language teachers will be the backbone of TCSOL in the future.However,there are few studies on the online teaching competence of pre-service international Chinese language teachers.Therefore,it is necessary to pay attention to the development of pre-service international Chinese teachers’ competence in online teaching,which will help promote the development of their professional competence and TCSOL.This thesis focused on pre-service international Chinese language teachers as the main research target,and explored the following questions: what is the status quo of pre-service international Chinese language teachers’ online teaching competence? What are the problems and influencing factors in online teaching of pre-service international Chinese language teachers? What are the strategies to improve the pre-service international Chinese language teachers’ competence for online teaching?This thesis collected the online teaching recruitment information of TCSOL institutions,analyzed the demand for online teaching competence of teachers in the front-line TCSOL.Based on the Professional Competence Standards for International Chinese Language Teachers and the Competency Model for International Chinese Language Teachers,and in combination with “qualities that Chinese teachers should have” proposed by Cui Xiliang(2016),a questionnaire survey was designed from 6 dimensions,including online teaching technology application,online teaching resources development and utilization,online teaching organization,online teaching implementation,online teaching evaluation and feedback as well as the redevelopment competence of online teaching skills.The status quo of online teaching competence and the existing problems in online teaching of pre-service teachers were investigated by questionnaire.Interviews were conducted with pre-service international Chinese language teachers,skilled teachers and expert teachers to find out the causes for problems in online teaching and how to improve online teaching competence and solve online teaching problems.The research found that the online teaching competence of most pre-service international Chinese language teachers can basically meet the needs of online teaching;the competence of pre-service international Chinese teachers in online teaching technology application and professional skills redevelopment are particularly outstanding;the competence of pre-service international Chinese teachers to apply online teaching resources needs to be improved;there is room for pre-service teachers to further improve their competence of online teaching design,teaching organization,teaching implementation and the competence of teaching reflection;the main factors that affect the online teaching competence of Master students of TCSOL include objective and subjective aspects.Objectively speaking,factors such as teaching network and platform,time difference,characteristics of teaching objects and training courses affect the online teaching effect;Subjectively,teachers’ personal teaching experience,professional belief,professional knowledge and skills are important factors affecting online teaching.In order to solve the problems of pre-service teachers’ online teaching and improve their online teaching competence,this thesis proposed development suggestions from the perspectives of individual pre-service teachers and their training units.As far as pre-service international Chinese language teachers are concerned,they should strengthen the learning of information skills and improve the competence to utilize online teaching resources;guide students to play the role of online learning as the main body and improve the competence of online teaching organization and interaction;actively participate in teaching competitions and improve online teaching design and teaching implementation competence;integrate information technology into teaching evaluation and feedback,and improve online teaching evaluation and feedback competence;observe excellent teaching and self-reflection regularly to improve the competence of online teaching reflection.From the pre-service teacher training units’ perspective,they should improve the curriculum,strengthen information teaching and technology empowerment;strengthening practical training to provide more teaching practice opportunities for pre-service teachers;strengthen online teaching skill guidance and organize lectures and training.It is hoped that this thesis will provide practical guidance for the development of pre-service teachers’ online teaching competence and TCSOL,provide some reference for the training of international Chinese language education talents and teacher development. |
