Research On The Tendency Of New Mainstream Film Online Reviews Based On Latent Dirichlet Allocation

In recent years,China’s film industry has witnessed rapid development and the market share of new mainstream films has been expanding.2012 to date,new mainstream films represented by "Operation Red Sea","War Wolf" and "Changjin Lake" have been released one after another,which have been recognized by the market and gained the attention of the academia.Especially in the 70 th anniversary of the founding of New China,the centenary of the founding of the Party and other major historical nodes,many masterpieces showing the Chinese spirit and mainstream values will also emerge,not only fully demonstrating the confidence of Chinese culture,but also injecting fresh blood into the film market.In this paper,we use LDA theme model to analyze the audience’s concern about new mainstream movies from the perspective of online reviews,and explore the audience’s evaluation of new mainstream movies through sentiment analysis,so as to further analyze the audience’s interpretation focus.Firstly,the LDA theme model is used to classify the new mainstream movie online reviews into themes,and it is found that the audience’s concerns about the new mainstream movies were mainly focused on: visual effects,creative line-up,and story content;secondly,the emotional tendency analysis is conducted for each of the three types of themes,and it is found that the viewers’ positive emotional tendency for story content accounts for the largest proportion,through "good-looking The positive emotional words such as "good-looking" and "wonderful" can show the audience’s satisfaction attitude.The negative emotional tendency toward the visual effect and creative lineup of new mainstream movies is more frequent,and derogatory words such as "embarrassing","confusing" and "dragging" appear frequently,which shows that the current new mainstream It is evident that the current new mainstream movies still have shortcomings in visual effects and creative lineups.Furthermore,using Hall’s coding and decoding theory to analyze the text data in depth,we find that the audience’s preferred interpretation of the three themes mainly focuses on three levels:picture presentation,character portrayal,and storyline;the negotiated interpretation is reflected in three aspects: the movie situation is linked to individual emotions,the movie characters are in dialogue with the audience’s ego,and the movie content is linked to individual memories;the confrontational interpretation focuses on character interpretation,sensational narrative,and gory picture.The confrontational interpretation focuses on character interpretation,sensational narrative and gore,and at the same time presents the characteristics of emotional catharsis and demand expression.To sum up,it is necessary for new mainstream films to further improve quality and create masterpieces that can meet the needs of audiences,such as using technology to enhance the visual effect of the picture;bringing into play the vitality of small characters to build bridges of communication;opening up historical horizons and cognition to improve the depth and breadth of content.
