During the Edo period,Japanese Chinese poetry flourished and developed,with Confucianism being the main group in the creation of Chinese poetry.Through the verification of data on Han poets during the Edo period,there are at least 250 Han poets who are involved in Confucianism research and have poetry collections.They are distributed in various social classes such as politics,education,and the public,and exhibit a growing proportion of the public.These Chinese poets,scholars,professors,or scholars,guided the development and creation of Chinese poetry with Confucian cultivation under the constantly changing and prominent Confucian trends.This article comprehensively perceives the appearance of Confucian Han poets and Chinese poetry during this period from the perspectives of Confucian schools,identity recognition,family succession,moral discourse,and artistic choices of Japanese Edo Confucian Han poets.The first chapter first sorts out the Confucian schools of thought of Confucian scholars and Chinese poets,based on the previous research on Japanese Confucianism.The academic and ideological concepts of Confucianism influence their Chinese poetry and literary concepts,as well as the themes and content of their creations.Among the Japanese Edo Confucian and Han poets,the number of people under the education,study,and research of the official shogunate concept of Zhu Zixue is the highest,followed by ancient studies.Seeking the path of the sage in Confucianism is a common ideal of the Edo Confucian and Han poets.However,the Zhuzi school of Confucian and Han poets pays more attention to the transmission of "Dao" and "Li",while the ancient school of Confucian and Han poets pay more attention to the display of Han poetry,prose,and subjective emotions.The second chapter focuses on the significant influence of family studies on the creation of Chinese poetry by Japanese Edo Confucian and Han poets.The growth,achievements,and style of Chinese poetry creation of Japanese Edo Han poets are inseparable from the influence of family system and inheritance background of family studies: the "adopted son" tradition of blood relationship generalization provides more opportunities and possibilities for the development of Chinese poets and Chinese poetry;The Confucian concepts and literary preferences upheld by parents often have a decisive guiding effect on their children.In addition,comparing the creative differences between Chinese poets and their parents is also an important perspective for exploring the gradual maturity of Japanese Edo Confucian Chinese poetry.The third chapter focuses on the recognition of the identity of Japanese Edo Confucian Han poets,analyzing the form and formation reasons of this group’s Han poetry from their identity characteristics.Japanese Edo Confucian and Han poets are both practitioners and poets of Confucianism,as well as local Japanese literati and creators of Han poetry.As Confucian and Han poets,they have a heart for governing the world and benefiting the people,but at the same time,due to their power in the martial arts,they cannot fully implement their aspirations for governing the country in the political space;As creators of Japanese Chinese poetry,they strive to learn towards the goal of standardized and exemplary Chinese poetry,but at the same time,they cannot erase the manifestation of local characteristics;In addition,under the influence of foreign literary styles,the fundamental issue of literature as human knowledge has gradually emerged in Confucian Chinese poetry,increasingly showcasing the individuality and spirit of the creators of Chinese poetry.The fourth chapter starts with the moral discourse of Japanese Edo Confucian Han poets,and from the perspective of the group’s adherence to the concept of elegant poetry and the gradually developing "historical poetry",we understand the moral characteristics in the creation of Confucian Han poets.Their elegant poetry view can be seen through their "integrity of emotions" and elegance in customs.Elegance not only unfolds the spirit of Confucianism,but also showcases Japanese national culture;During the Edo period,the power of Confucianism cannot be ignored,as it was not only the maturity of the development of Chinese poetry,but also the great awakening of the national consciousness of Confucianism and Chinese poets.The fifth chapter analyzes the artistic characteristics of the poetic style and imagery in the Chinese poetry of Japanese Edo Confucian and Han poets.The Han poets who use "Yazheng" as a model of Chinese poetry almost occupy the entire Edo Confucian Han poet community,and under this concept,their love for ancient Chinese poetry is particularly evident.In addition,quatrains also demonstrate a major tendency under their Confucian poetic concepts.At the level of imagery,the portrayal of "plum" and "haze" in Confucian Chinese poetry also demonstrates their identity.The use of allusions in Chinese poetry by Confucian and Chinese poets provides great potential for the growth of Chinese poetry,and is an important manifestation of the maturity of Chinese poetry in foreign lands. |
