Zhu Shanpo is a native Guangxi writer, the borderland of Guangdong and Guangxi has paved the background of marginalization and unfamiliarity of the regional space of Zhu Shanpo’s novel with "a wild growth and steaming vigor".In addition, the trend of the fierce reform and opening up in Guangdong and Guangxi in the 1980 s and 1990 s has torn apart a huge "wound" between modernity and localism. For the purpose of "paying attention to the people at the bottom of society and seeing through the suffering",Zhu Shanpo truly presents the survival and spiritual predicament that the people at the bottom of society face. While writing about the suffering of the people at the bottom of society who are marginalized,he also tries to find the weak warmth in humanity to soothe the trauma of the marginal people, showing deep sympathy. This paper is mainly divided into three chapters for research:The first chapter mainly starts from the realistic situation with duality in different dimensions, including the failed dialogue between the city and the countryside under the background of reform and opening up,the relative existence of normal and abnormal cognition in the field of social cultural psychology, the relationship between the new era and the past history after the change of era, etc. These construct the existence background of "two cultures" with conflicts and antagonism, which marginal characters rely on,presenting diverse and heterogeneous marginal situations,so that we can make an overall overview of the marginal people in Zhu Shanpo’s novels in the way of group portraits, including the bankrupt farmer and urban migrant workers in the urban and rural conflict areas, the abnormal people with physical or mental illness, the offspring dissociated from the history of the time and so on.The second chapter mainly explores the characteristic of Zhu Shanpo’s combination of realistic theme and non-realistic narration when he portrays marginal characters.Desire and suffering are typical and prominent representations of the realistic existence of marginal characters in Zhu Shanpo’s novels.Zhu Shanpo does not use the faithful realistic narration, but makes the novel "stick to the ground" and "fly" through a "surreal" way.The first is the metaphorical expression of desire, which truly shows the repressed state of existence, individual dignity, sexual desire and other aspects of marginal characters. The second is trying to annotate the life of the marginal characters by two images and the theme of suffering. The third chapter focuses on the "Marginality" in Zhu Shanpo’s novels.Firstly, from the perspective of human, this paper explores the marginal characteristics of identity anxiety and the state of wandering, which is an important part of the marginal characteristics of Zhu Shanp’s novel. And then, from the perspective of space, trying to analyze the influence of the existence of regional space on the marginality of Zhu Shanp’s novel, which is the second implication of the marginal trait. Moreover,The Sahel Wasteland,a collection of stories recently published by Zhu Shanpo, shows that Zhu Shanpo’s creative angle of view has begun to change from the marginal Guangxi region into the south of the world, which makes the "marginality" present a trend of globalization,it not only shows Zhu Shanpo’s creative trend of constantly seeking breakthrough and thinking, but also shows that "New Southern Writing" has more possibility of narration. |
