The report of the 20 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China pointed out that it is necessary to promote cultural self-confidence and self-improvement,create new brilliance of socialist culture,promote the all-round development of mass sports and competitive sports,and accelerate the construction of a strong sports country.Sport and culture are mutually reinforcing and indispensable.China’s sports film is an important way of disseminating sports culture and an effective way to develop the narrative expression of sports film.As far as China is concerned,the connotation expressed by the theme in sports movies is in a key dominant position of ideology,which has played an important role in promoting the overall development of China’s sports culture.At present,China is at an important juncture of transformation from a major sports country to a powerful sports country,and stabilizing the ideological foundation and giving play to the transmission and guiding role of sports culture is the primary task.China’s sports films should follow the trend,firmly seize development opportunities,actively develop and seek innovation,expand their influence at home and abroad,and help build a powerful sports country in an all-round way.This study takes sports film after the founding of New China as the key research object,and makes full use of research methods such as content analysis method,documentary data method and comparative analysis method,and carries out the following research on the changes of sports film narrative in New China:(1)Based on the theory of film narrative,based on the general situation of the times,representative subject characteristics,historical characteristics,etc.,and on the basis of referring to the research of predecessors,the research of sports film is divided into three stages,namely the beginning and transition period(1949-2000),Breakthrough and prosperity(2001-2008),self-confidence and rise(2009-2021).Then,the specific manifestations of the rhetoric process of sports films in China are explored,and the following conclusions are drawn: first,the changes in the creation of sports films in China include the shift of collectivism to focus on the feelings of the individual’s home and country;Second,political propaganda has shifted to health and fitness propaganda;Third,the form of expression is more prominent in Chinese traditional culture.(2)From the perspective of film narration,several problems in sports films are proposed: First,the single story mode of the theme narrative communication content of Chinese sports movies is similar;Second,the thematic narrative structure in Chinese sports movies is unreasonable.(3)Based on this,the following solutions are proposed: First,integrate new themes and new ideas into the context of the times.In the context of the new era,sports films should combine the characteristics of the times to create a multicultural theme;Second,actively learn from foreign experience.Telling Chinese stories well to attract more people’s attention to sports movies requires us to actively learn from the successful experience of the West;Third,it is urgent to promote the development of film through technological upgrading and innovation.The addition of emerging technologies can improve the viewing value of sports movies in China to a certain extent. |
