A Practice Report On The Simulated Interpreting For The Opening Ceremony Of 2022 Winter Olympic Games From The Perspective Of Interpretive Theory

As a major landmark event at an important point in China’s history,the Beijing Winter Olympic Games and Winter Paralympic Games have greatly nurtured the Beijing Winter Olympic spirit,embodied the core values of the Olympics,and given a great impetus to the development of China’s cultural and sports aspects.This simulated interpreting practice takes the interpretation of the artistic performance of opening ceremony of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games as the material for the simulation of consecutive interpretation,which mainly discusses the interpretation problems that arise in the simulation interpretation process,reflects and summarizes them.At the same time,the interpretation strategies used in the process will be classified and summarized.And the interpretive theory is used as the guiding theory and the interpretation triangle model of the interpretive theory as the theoretical guidance to classify and study the interpretation problems that arise during the interpreting process.The interpretation strategies will be classified under that model and the interpreter will make reflects and summaries on the simulated interpreting practice process.The interpreter categorizes the challenges faced and the interpretation strategies used in this task through field recordings,text transcription,and post-translation reflective summaries of simulated interpretation practices.This report is based on the simulated interpretation of the opening ceremony of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games.Through analyzing the linguistic characteristics and stylistic style of the opening ceremony commentary,and under the guidance of the Interpretive Theory,the author analyzes and summarizes the interpretation techniques and strategies used in the interpretation practice by combining the main ideas of this theory.The interpreting practice proves that the interpreting triangle model of Interpretive Theory can effectively guide the interpreting practice.The Interpretive Theory provides ideas and concrete solutions to the problems and challenges faced by the author in ChineseEnglish consecutive interpreting,and deepens my understanding and knowledge of the problems under the above categories.Therefore,this simulated interpretation practice is a meaningful attempt of opening ceremony interpretation,and the interpreter also hopes to provide experience and reference for future research on the interpretation practice related to the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics.
