LYU Heruo was one of the important writers during the Japanese occupation period in Taiwan.From the Japanese occupation period to the early days of the Liberation period,the special era background and historical situation created LYU Heruo’s unique intellectual perspective and literary aspect,and the special experience of the times also formed the literary theme and periodical transmutation of his novels.In his works,folklore writing,as an important novel vision,metaphorically represented the writer’s intellectual strategy under the colonial pressure,which is an alternative manifestation of the writer’s anti-colonial consciousness.This paper adopts a pluralistic research method of multidisciplinary integration,takes history and literature as the main starting point.On the basis of the research of predecessors,this paper synthesizes multiple sources to examine LYU Heruo’s era,life and friendship.And on this basis,the writer and his works are restored to a specific creative context.The literary theme and creative transformation of LYU Heruo’s novels,the folk writing and its literary metaphorical mechanism,and the literary merit and practical significance of novels are discussed.Combined with detailed historical research,this paper explores the colonial scars and pains experienced by Taiwanese society from the Japanese occupation period to the early days of the Liberation period,and strives to explore the profound meaning of the writer’s novels and its folklore writing from the perspective of "size up people by his simple devices to discuss the world and background ",and to figure out the storm of the times and the secret history of the writer’s mind that hidden under the surface of the novel text.
