The Fusion Of Abstraction And Figuration

Abstract and concrete are two aesthetic concepts in the West,and there are also two different aesthetic tendencies in the development of watercolor painting.There is a certain balance between abstraction and representativeness in painting.Although it may seem like a deliberate weakening of abstract expression in early classical paintings,abstraction serves as the support point and rhythm behind the work.With the rapid development of society,there are also various ways of expression.Many painters no longer adhere to the image of the world itself,and the application of abstract and concrete painting in various aspects has lost its constraints.More and more people are expressing abstraction as a painting theme.The author believes that the fusion of abstract and concrete is worth studying.In the process of creating the "Romance of Time"(my series of works),the author focuses on exploring the significance of painting elements such as screen management,line application,virtual and real composition,and material application in creating a complete and harmonious picture,and obtains reflection and insights from it.This article is divided into four chapters.Chapter 1: Introduction;Chapter 2: The Expression of Abstract and Concrete in Painting;Chapter 3: The author’s series of watercolor works,including inspiration and theme exploration,image management,and the integration of abstraction and concrete in the works;Chapter 4: Reflections and insights during the creative process.
