| In general, most people tend to think of intimate relationship violence as with more serious and extreme situations. In fact,Intimate Partner Violence(IPV)is defined as acts committed by one partner in an intimate relationship with the physical, psychological,or sexual purpose of controlling, dominating, and attacking the other and causing actual or emotional harm to the other. This study takes Chinese college students as research objects.Through the method of combining questionnaire and qualitative interview, the author explores the influence of Relative Deprivation(RD)on IPV,as well as the moderating effect of self-differentiation level and the mediating effect of love envy.In study 1,mature questionnaires were used to measure the above four variables,392 valid questionnaires were collected, and the results of the questionnaires were analyzed statistically. In Study 2,which topic was consistent with Study 1,the qualitative interview method was adopted.Ten participant form Study 1 who were willing to continue to participate in the study were selected for semi-structured interview. The results of study 1 showed that RD positively predicted the occurrence of IPV,and love jealousy played a partial mediating role(effect size 0.236**,p < 0.01).The level of self-differentiation negatively moderates the relationship between RD and love envy(effect size-0.191**,p < 0.01).In addition to further proving the results of quantitative research and exploring its forms and mechanisms of action, study 2 also found that aggressiveness, relative fairness and interpersonal support are protective factors of relative deprivation, and matching, respectful and aware ways of getting along, communication and individual efforts can effectively avoid the occurrence of intimate relationship violence. |
