The newly issued English Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022)highlights that English teaching should highlight the dominant position of students,and pay attention to their individualized and diversified learning and development needs,so as to enhance the suitability of the curriculum and promote their individualized development.Thus,the idea of individuation is highly concerned and respected.As one of the important links in the operation of the teaching system,after-school tutoring is an effective auxiliary and supplementary form of teaching.Integrating after-school tutoring with individualized teaching ideas can meet the requirements of curriculum reform.However,the current junior high school English after-class tutoring can not meet the needs of students’ individualized tutoring.After-class tutoring with the help of smart classroom can effectively supplement the content of classroom teaching and improve the efficiency and effect of tutoring.Based on the above findings,this research attempts to explore some effective individualized tutoring strategies with the help of the network platform of “Xue Xitong” to meet the needs of their individualized development.This study mainly discusses the following three questions:(1)What are the current problems in junior high school English after-class tutoring?(2)How can teachers use “Xue Xitong” network platform to carry out individualized after-school tutoring?(3)How to further optimize individualized after-school tutoring based on network platform? In order to answer these questions,an experimental research has been carried out in a public junior high school in Hefei,in which Class 6,Grade 9has been taken as the experimental class,using individualized tutoring based on the“Xue Xitong”;Class 4,Grade 9 has been taken as the control class,adopting the traditional after-school tutoring model.Data have been collected through questionnaire,interview and tests and processed with SPSS and Excel.The results of the four-month investigation show that: First,the current after-school tutoring has some problems such as insufficient tutoring time,simple tutoring form,and lacking tutoring targets,which need to be further improved to meet the individualized tutoring needs of students.Second,individualized tutoring based on smart classroom has a positive impact on students’ enthusiasm,attitude,habits and achievements in learning English through various strategies such as collective tutoring,one-to-one tutoring,hierarchical tutoring and student-mutual tutoring.Third,the experimental results show that the current individualized tutoring in smart classroom still needs to be optimized in terms of learning style and team member matching,so as to promote the more effective development of individualized after-school tutoring. |
