| Mirage is a vernacular novel written by the Yu Ling Lao people in the Qing Dynasty.It covers the political economy,social conditions,and folk customs of the Lingnan area during the reign of Emperor Qianjia,presenting a unique narrative style.This thesis aims to conduct a comprehensive exploration of the narrative art of Mirage based on the close reading of the text and the narration theory.The introduction of this thesis introduces the research status and significance of Mirage.The introduction part focuses on the classification and summary of the previous research results in the author’s identity,ideological content,narrative characteristics and other aspects.The main body consists of five chapters,which are studied from five perspectives,namely,the background of the book,the theme of the novel,the narrative structure,the narrative perspective and the narrative time and space.The first chapter studies the author’s life and narrative correlation.First,the author of Mirage Zhi Yu Ling’s identity,footprints and life times are deduced based on the text,and on this basis,the author’s artistic personality and the content of his work are analyzed in relation to the Qianjia literary circle and the regional culture of East Guangdong.Chapter two analyzes the theme and ethical thinking of the novel.This chapter discusses the theme of the novel and the ethical thoughts contained in it.The work not only reflects the ethics of businessmen,but also expresses the praise of social morality and criticism of the corruption of the officials of the imperial court.In addition,the concept of marriage and love shows the characteristics of both openness and conservatism.The third chapter studies the narrative structure and mode of Mirage.The narrative structure of Mirage shows the characteristics of the combination of radiant monomer structure and piecemeal structure,which is conducive to the integration of different themes and the expression of a broader social life.Its narrative mode inherits the "karma" mode.Chapter four discusses the perspective of the narrator in Mirage.The narrator of Mirage mainly uses an omniscient perspective to narrate the story,which has the function of sorting out the story context and expressing the narrator’s position.At the same time,the narrator will also adopt the inner perspective narrative,which takes Sugis as the core perspective,which is conducive to in-depth analysis of this plump businessman image.The alternation of internal and external perspectives shows the contradiction and conflict in the development of the story.Chapter five studies the narrative time and space of the works.The narrative time of Mirage is in accordance with the linear structure of the four seasons cycle,and the aesthetic model of spring,summer,autumn,decline and winter end is used to trigger the narrative time.The narrative space is the projection of the social reality of Qianjia,reflecting the surface prosperity of the society at that time,but in fact the turbulent situation.At the same time,the narrative space of the work extends around Guangzhou,showing the characteristics of urban space,rural space and ocean space,which helps time to complete the narrative through space.The conclusion part summarizes the content of the whole thesis,combs the whole research,and emphasizes the significance of this research. |
