National Women’s Political Caucus And Women In Politics In USA (1971-2001)

In the second half of the 20 th century,the National Women’s Political Caucus was founded with the help of the Second feminist movement,and faced with the traditional gender consciousness of women’s shackles.Under this hedge,the National Women’s Political Caucus played a variety of roles and played a pioneering role in bringing women and women’s concerns to the forefront of American politics.In this process,it improves women’s political participation in a variety of ways,with phased characteristics.At the same time,American women have also participated in the political life in various capacities.From lobbyists to female voters to running for office,women have begun to step into an increasingly important position from the edge of political life,thus affecting the development of the American political system,especially the electoral politics.This paper is divided into four parts,the first part is the introduction,mainly introduces the research object;The purpose and significance of the research;The relevant domestic and foreign researches are combed and summarized,and the innovation of this paper is introduced.The second part is the first chapter,which mainly introduces the historical background and organizational purpose of the National Women’s Political Caucus.The organization was founded amid opportunities and challenges.The rise of the second feminist movement in the 1960 s provided favorable organizational conditions and talent experience for its establishment,but the gender barriers faced by women in politics also made its development face difficulties.The third part is the second chapter of the text.The National Women’s Political Caucus plays different roles in the participation of women in politics.This paper mainly introduces the main activities of the National Women’s Political Caucus in different stages in chronological order,and discusses the practical process of the organization in women’s political participation in the mode of project plus case analysis.It is mainly divided into the following four aspects.In its early stages,the group was active in political parties mainly by increasing the number of female delegates to party conventions.In the expansion phase,it expanded its political activities into the legislative and judicial fields through the Judicial Appointments Project and the Women’s Appointment Alliance activities.Third,in the adjustment phase,by winning the women’s movement,local organizations played a large role in electing state officials.And when the organization was relatively mature,it acted as a campaign group,increasing the number of female candidates through recruiting and endorsing.The fourth part is the third chapter of the text,which mainly analyzes the role of American women’s organizations for American women’s political participation in combination with the above political activities.The political activities of the National Women’s Political Caucus achieved important results in promoting the development of the Second feminist movement and increasing the number of women in politics,while also highlighting the political value of women.However,this influence is also limited by conservative social gender consciousness,coupled with the fragmentation of organizations,and women’s substantive participation in political decision-making needs to be further improved.Finally,on this basis,it further discusses the effect of female political participation on the development of American social and political life from the perspective of gender history.It has affected the improvement and development of American democratic system,especially the emergence of gender difference has significantly affected American electoral politics.
