The traditional model of internationalisation of higher education, characterised by "the movement of people across borders",has been undermined by the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia. As an important component of modern education in China, the sino-foreign Cooperative Education Projects have the great responsibility of training international talents for the country. In response to the call for "suspension of classes and non-stop studying",the Sino-foreign Cooperative Education Projects have set up live online English platforms with its advanced teaching facilities for foreign teachers and students in order to provide students with access to quality international education resources without leaving the country.A total of 309 students from three schools unnder Sino-foreign Cooperative Education Projects were selected as the subjects of this thesis, and the research methods used were electronic questionnaire method and interview method.216 valid questionnaires were screened and 101 questionnaires were provided with CET4 scores. The main questions to be answered are as follows:(1)What is the overall status of the participants’online English learning anxiety?(2)What are the different types of online English learning anxiety among the participants?(3)What are the factors that influence the online English learning anxiety of the participants? The electronic questionnaire of this study contained basic information and two scales.Scale 1 selected some of the questions from Horwitz’s(1986)English Anxiety Scale to make an adapted Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale.Scale 2 is based on Cassady and Johnson’s(2002)Cognitive Test Anxiety Scale, with the addition of some questions that may potentially influence English language learning anxiety,to create the Foreign Language Anxiety Influencing Factors Scale.Ten studentswith the highest levels of anxiety were selected for interview after data analysis through SPSS 22.0.The findings of the study are as follows:(1)A total of 85.6%of the participants in the three schools had a moderate or higher level of online English learning anxiety.(2)Factor analysis revealed that students’ "pre-class emotional anxiety" and "teacher interaction anxiety" accounted for more than half of the weight in the online English courses."Interpersonal anxiety" "test anxiety" and "intrinsic personal anxiety"are the main causes of foreign language anxiety.(3)This study found that there was no significant relationship between the age of English initiation, major,NCEE scores and online English learning anxiety.Data analysis of 101 questionnaires providing CET4 scores revealed a significant negative correlation between CET4 scores and "test anxiety" and a significant positive correlation with "positive affective anxiety" among the participants. There is a growing body of research on learning anxiety, both nationally and internationally. However, studies that specifically focus on students under Sino-foreign Cooperative Education Projects and on online courses are relatively rare. This targeted survey was conducted with a view to identifying the current state of anxiety among the participants, promoting the development of online English teaching and improving the learning effectiveness of teaching English in live online classes.
