The technological support of "Internet Plus" calls for innovative changes in education,the "China Education Modernization 2035" appeals to the construction of a lifelong learning education system for all people,and the transitional period of the National Open University demands a reform for the intrinsic development.In this background,new requirements for adult in-service education in open universities are put forward,and accordingly,stimulating the learning motivation and interest of adult in-service students,helping them to eventually form the lifelong learning power of independent learning,and better playing the role of open universities in serving the construction of a lifelong learning society for all people are the issues that open universities need to study urgently in the period of transition.Starting from the problems encountered in teaching college English to adult students of Taizhou Open University and through extensive literature reading and analysis,questionnaire survey and interview,teaching experience summary and analysis,this thesis attempts to propose a new model of English stratified teaching based on "Internet + adult association" and analyze the stratification criteria,management mode,and strategies of online and offline teaching activities with the convenience of online learning.In order to solve the problems of insufficient motivation and weak independent learning ability of adult learners in stratified teaching,four strategies,namely,attracting attention,establishing association,enhancing confidence and sense of fulfillment,are applied on the basis of ARCS theory,to stimulate and enhance learners’ motivation,exert a positive influence upon them,and help them to form a good habit of spontaneous and independent learning.The reform and innovation of teaching mode requires scientific and reasonable evaluation to achieve the effect of promoting teaching through evaluation.In the teaching practice,the reform and specific implementation strategies of teaching evaluation based on dynamic evaluation theory are introduced according to the objectives of stratified teaching to achieve the multi dimensionality of stratified teaching evaluation content,the diversity of evaluation subjects,the integration of teaching and evaluation methods and the information technology of evaluation means,so as to better consolidate the effect of community-based stratified teaching practice and the healthy and sustainable development of teaching reform.
