A Study On The Governance Of Rural Marriage Customs Under The Background Of The Construction Of Rural Culture And Civilization

The governance of marriage customs is an important component of the modernization of rural governance and the improvement of farmers’ self-cultivation.However,there are many phenomena in rural society that are not in line with the marriage customs culture,such as exorbitant dowries,extravagant weddings,and uncivilized wedding disturbances.These negative practices lead to waste and comparison,increase the economic burden on villagers,and restrict the sustainable development of rural families.Therefore,strengthening the governance of rural marriage customs is of great significance.This article takes S town in K city as an example to explore the governance of rural marriage customs under government leadership.Using the theory of collaborative governance and a logical framework of "negative phenomena in marriage customs-collaborative governance practice-governance effectiveness-governance problems and causes-governance strategies",a systematic study and analysis of the governance of rural marriage customs in S town was conducted.Through field investigation,it was found that the governance of marriage customs in the town suffers from problems such as inadequate management,insufficient cultural propaganda,and lax work attitudes.The reasons for these issues were analyzed,including the fragmentation of government departments responsible for marriage customs governance,the solidified working methods of village cadres,and the inadequate evaluation mechanisms of the red and white committee.To address these issues,this article proposes governance strategies such as improving the modern governance capabilities of the government,strengthening collaborative governance between village committees and the red and white committee,and promoting excellent marriage customs culture while increasing the cultural identity of villagers.The aim is to promote the development of rural marriage customs governance and the construction of a civilized rural society.This article analyzes the problems of the governance of marriage customs in S town using the theory of collaborative governance,and proposes effective governance strategies to inspire the initiative of all governance entities,form a joint force,and improve the government’s governance capabilities.
