Popular science book is one of the important ways to spread science,and children’s popular science book is an important tool to improve children’s scientific literacy.According to the survey,the illustrations of foreign children’s popular science books are,and scientific and practical illustrations account for a large proportion,which can help them understand abstract scientific knowledge more vividly and cultivate their love for science.Now,most popular science books in China are stilted,not scientific or interesting enough.As an important carrier of scientific content,children’s popular science books are important resources for promoting science education,especially for children.Popular science children’s books combine the visual representation of information cards and illustrations to enable children to acquire knowledge more effectively and quickly.As an illustration form in popular science children’s books,information charts can enable children to exercise their data analysis skills in a big data environment while learning knowledge information charts are also a form of illustration in popular science books for children,which can help children improve their ability to analyze problems and continuously acquire knowledge in the process.Information charts,which serve as illustrations for books,are a great way to display data and information.In this era of data and information explosion,the design of information charts in children’s popular science books also requires higher standards.How to present data content from multiple perspectives in a more innovative,is a topic of great concern.The design of children’s popular science books studied in this article is mainly aimed at children with a certain level of receptivity and thinking ability,and their age is mainly around12 years old.The author’s graduation work "Encyclopedia of Chinese Chemical History" is precisely based on the design of popular science books.Through design practice,it integrates the dissemination of information charts into popular science books,refining and illustrating scientific and historical knowledge,allowing the book to bring more imagination to children,thereby cultivating their reading interest,stimulating their thinking ability,scientific logic ability,and artistic talent.The full text is mainly divided into four parts: The first part mainly introduces the research background and significance of this paper.The second part investigates the current domestic and foreign children’s popular science book problem to a certain extent,and conducts an offline questionnaire survey.The third part summarizes the information transmission and information charts of children’s popular science books.The fourth part analyzes the current situation of children’s best-selling books,reorganizes and redraws knowledge and information points around the design practice of the Encyclopedia of the History of Chinese Chemistry,attempts to use information charts to edit and design book content,and combines images and text as much as possible to make the informative graphic design of the book more responsive to the reading needs of the target audience’s children. |
