Research On The Audiovisual Expression Of Character Documentaries From The Perspective Of Narratology

As a kind of media,documentary makes the public accept ideological education and cultural edification in the subtle narrative expression.Among them,character documentary records people’s living conditions,reflects the hidden crux between people and people and between people and society,reflects the changing characteristics of The Times,and gives the audience space for philosophitic thinking and is favored by the public.This paper mainly studies the visual expression and auditory expression of character documentary,and combines the theory of narratology one by one.In the visual narrative expression,the author discusses the montage,narrative opening,the spatial orientation of the camera and the use of the lens.In addition,the author finds that domestic scholars have a serious homogeneity tendency in the research results of character documentary combined with narratology.They all tend to use theories to explain repeatedly under the framework of narrative strategies,and only change different documentary research texts,without substantial breakthrough and innovation in research methods.Therefore,in this study,the author added quantitative research methods of Cinemetrics into the study of visual expression,measured the relevant data of excellent character documentaries "A LONGCHERISHED DREAM-DRIVE LIKE A GIRL" and "SECOND LIFE.REUNION",and analyzed the creation characteristics of current character documentaries.In order to organically combine work creation and thesis writing,the author summarized the measured and analyzed data and added the conclusions to the shooting and post editing of graduation works,so as to verify relevant data and theories with practice and guide the creation of works with relevant theories.In the auditory narrative expression,the author analyzes the auditory narrative expression from the aspects of sound,human voice,music and auditory focus,combined with the work "HOT AND DRY NOODLES AND SCALPEL".Finally,the summary and reflection of graduation works.This paper has some innovations in theoretical research.The author combines measurement of metrological data with narratology theory,and integrates quantitative empirical research into documentary works,breaking through the conventional "pure theory" documentary research mode,so as to provide useful reference and inspiration for creating documentary works in line with the trend of The Times,adapting to market demand and satisfying public aesthetics in the future.
