| The new English curriculum standards for senior secondary schools require students to have core literacy skills such as language ability,thinking quality,cultural awareness and learning ability.While deep learning emphasizes higher-order thinking skills,such as critical reflection and the ability to transfer,integrate,and problem-solve knowledge.In China,deep learning has received increasing attention as an important way to develop students’ core literacy.However,most research on deep learning in the field of education has focused on higher education and science and technology majors at present,while less research has been conducted on deep learning for high school students.In recent years,many scholars have conducted research on the characteristics of grammar blank filling questions,the knowledge points tested,and how to improve their scoring rate.In 2014,the English language examination for the provincial college entrance examination in Hubei province changed from a single-choice grammar question to a part-of-speech grammar blank filling question.The question type aims to test candidates’ ability to grasp the general meaning of a text,reduce sentences,think logically,and apply language.Most of the research on English grammar blank filling has been theoretical and focused on answering steps and scoring techniques,with few scholars using teaching theory and learning strategies to conduct in-depth,concrete,and meaningful research on this topic.In order to help teachers understand high school English type grammar blank learning strategy application,improve and strengthen it for the cultivation of students’ learning strategy,improve the effective grasp of the issue,and better from the perspective of cultivating students’ learning strategy for teachers on grammar teaching reference and suggestions,the research questions on the following three aspects: 1.What is the overall situation of students’ deep learning in Hanyang No.1 High School English classes? 2.Does the application of deep learning theory in teaching help students to fill in the English grammar blank filling?To help teachers understand high school English grammar blank learning strategy application,improve and strengthen it for the cultivation of students’ learning strategies,and provide better guidance to teachers on grammar teaching,this study focused on answering the following research questions: 1.What is the overall situation of students’ deep learning in Hanyang No.1 High School English classes? 2.Does the application of deep’ learning theory in teaching help students to fill in the English grammar blank filling?Taking Hanyang No.1 High School as an example,206 students from the school were selected as research subjects.The research tools mainly included four categories:questionnaire,interview,classroom observation,and tests.In the course of the research,the following conclusions were drawn from the analysis and discussion based on the questionnaire survey: 1.From the collected questionnaire survey,most of teachers and students in Hanyang No.1 High School have sufficient knowledge of deep learning,but few of students and teachers are know little about deep learning.2.Through the data analysis of the two tests,students’ grammar filling in the blanks improved significantly.The author also listed the shortcomings of this study and made relevant suggestions for some problems in the teaching of teachers in this study. |
