| In our daily life,we often need to think about the advantages and disadvantages of the same thing at different times. For those who need to use foreign languages, will it make the same decision results as when using mother tongue? In recent years,a number of studies have proved that different results will be obtained when the same decision-making situation is described in different languages. This phenomenon is called a foreign language effect.Although many studies have proved that using foreign languages can help people reduce decision-making deviations, there are still controversy on whether the foreign language effect exists in the period of intertemporal decision-making.Differences in language use will be accompanied by other factors to jointly affect intertemporal decision-making.Therefore,whether the foreign language effect exists in intertemporal decision-making also needs further verification. This study aims to explore whether the foreign language effects exist in intertemporal decision-making,as well as other factors(time, risk)influence and inherent processing mechanisms. The results showed that experiment 1(n = 143)used the single-factor interviews to discuss the differences in intertemporal decision-making preferences of the Chinese group and the English group, and used predecessor materials as intertemporal decision-making tasks. It was found that the selection ratio of the use of foreign languages increased the delay option. As a result, the phenomenon of foreign language effects supported in intertemporal decision-making,and the conflict emotional self-assessment and cognitive test scores of cross-period decision-making are significantly different. On the basis of experiment 1,experiment 2(n = 194)adopts the impact of two factors to discuss the effects of language and time factors on intertemporal decision-making,and use cross-term matching to determine the task of intertemporal decision-making.It was found that there was no significant difference in the reference point at different times at different times. The trials of foreign languages were significantly higher than the test scores of intertemporal risk assessment than the trial of mother tongue.Language and time only interacting on epidemic virus. There is no significant difference in the use of foreign language and mother tongue in negative emotional scores. On the basis of experiment 2,experiment3(N = 311)explores the effects of language, time, and risk on the choice of preferences for intertemporal decision-making through three factors, and adopts the task of determining intertemporal decision-making by ticking models. It was found that under the joint influence of language, time, and risks, using foreign languages to choose a delay option is easier to choose from the test of foreign languages. At the same time, the results show that it is not clear that the risk is small, and the foreign language promotes the easier to think about the delay option.Based on time and risk-based thinking for instant and delay options, the admits using foreign languages are easy to choose delay options with high risk and high income. The conflict of conflict emotional self-assessment scores for intertemporal decision-making is significantly different.Based on the results of the three experiments, the following conclusions are drawn:(1)Foreign language effects in intertemporal decision-making.Experiment 1shows that the use of foreign languages reduces the selection ratio of the delay option, which helps the subjects to invest in long-term investment and health management;(2)Time,risk and language jointly affect intertemporal decision-making.The two parts of the experiment have verified the language and time that affects people’s cross-matched decisions, that is,the 5-year-old risk assessment of the Chinese group in the 5 and 10 years of epidemic virus problems is significantly lower than the English group, which helps the subjects to conduct cautious cross-crossing cross Periodic decision-making;the results of experiment three prove that when language, time, and risk interaction are used to intertemporal decision-making,the use of foreign languages to be tested more to choose a delay option with high risk and higher income, and there is a significant difference in different times at different times.Essence The overall results show that there are foreign language effects in intertemporal decision-making,and they are affected by time and risk. When people face intertemporal decision-making in foreign languages, the impact of time and risk on decision-making results need to be considered.(3)When using foreign languages for intertemporal decision-making,activate less cross-term selection of psychological conflict emotional experience and activate more cognitive participation. |
