Scientific Analysis And Research On Han Dynasty Bronze Mirrors Unearthed In Xinxiang Henan

Based on the published archaeological excavation reports and briefs and the Han Dynasty bronze mirror samples collected from the Xinxiang Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology and the Han Feng Museum of Xinxiang City,we use archaeological typology and statistics to sort out the types of Han Dynasty bronze mirrors excavated in the Xinxiang area and discuss their composition,casting techniques and sources of minerals using technological analysis.The bronze mirrors of the Han Dynasty excavated in the Xinxiang area are divided into 17 categories according to the thematic ornamentation.The distribution area of bronze mirrors excavated in the Xinxiang area and the types and sizes of mainstream bronze mirrors in the Xinxiang area during the Han Dynasty are also sorted out more clearly by using statistical methods.The composition and process of Han Dynasty bronze mirrors excavated from Xinxiang area were studied from metallographic observation and composition analysis,and it is concluded that the composition of Han Dynasty bronze mirrors excavated from Xinxiang area is more stable and the casting process is more mature.The analysis of lead isotope ratios reveals that the Han Dynasty bronze mirrors excavated from Xinxiang area have different sources of ore.The leading isotope ratio of one bronze mirror has the characteristic of "North China lead",and the ore is more likely to come from the mining area of Jiaodong;the three bronze mirrors have the characteristic of "South China lead",and the ore is more likely to come from the middle and lower reaches of Yangtze River or the mining area of Taiyi Mountain.Therefore,we analyze the composition,casting process and source of minerals of Han Dynasty bronze mirrors excavated in Xinxiang area,and discuss the transportation,political economy,ideology and culture of Xinxiang area in Han Dynasty in combination with their ornamental features,which contain cultural and technological information from multiple dimensions The cultural and technological information contained therein reflects the stability of social and political order,the development of transportation,the prosperity of economy and trade,and the peaceful life of the people during the Han Dynasty.
