Bronze mirrors originated from China very in the very early time and continued to develop for thousands of years.In this process,it has formed its own special features about mirror culture.In Tang Dynasty,the society was stable and the economy was prosperous.The bronze mirrors also have reached a new development peak.As the eastern capital of the Tang Dynasty,Luoyang played an important role in politics,economy and culture.Therefore,this paper aims to study the Tang Dynasty bronze mirrors unearthed in Luoyang area,and then explore the culture and characteristics of Tang mirrors,so as to observe the relevant social conditions at that time.Based on the archaeological materials and documents,this paper attempts to sort out,classify the regions and periods of the bronze mirrors unearthed from non-chronological tombs,and explore the archaeological information behind them.Firstly,based on the introduction of the development process of bronze mirrors,this paper summarizes and combs the overall characteristics of the bronze mirrors in Tang Dynasty,and classifies the unearthed data of the bronze mirrors in Luoyang area.Secondly,the types,categories and forms of Tang Dynasty bronze mirrors unearthed in Luoyang area are studied as well,and the above mentioned different stages are discussed in combination with the chronological bronze mirrors.Thirdly,relevant research on special process mirror is carried out.Fourthly,the spatial analysis of the copper mirrors in this area is made through the statistics of the sites where the copper mirrors came out.Fifthly,based on the historical and cultural background,this paper speculates on the spatial distribution of Tang Dynasty bronze mirrors unearthed in Luoyang,and tries to discuss the political,economic,cultural and social factors behind the bronze mirror culture.This study provides a new perspective for the study of Tang culture,but there are also some shortcomings.Firstly,there only collected the bronze mirrors of Tang Dynasty unearthed in Luoyang after the founding of thePeople’s Republic of China,and no detailed analysis and research was made on the bronze mirrors unearthed from generations to generations or illegal tomb robbery.Secondly,because it is difficult to determine the time difference between the making,using and burying of bronze mirrors,there will be some errors in the staging of bronze mirrors,which makes the formation of the conclusion objectivity.
