Through the research method of experimental phonetics,this paper analyzes the acquisition of the third tone sandhi of Indonesian middle and advanced stage Chinese learners.The research finds that: 1.The middle stage learners have the problems of confusing the second tone with the third tone and misreading it as a zigzag tone,which is reflected in the acquisition of two-word groups and three-word groups tone sandhi.2.At the intermediate stage,learners generally have errors in tone sandhi of two-word and three-word groups,which mainly shows that the tone sandhi of the third tone is still read as the original tone,and the awareness and ability of the third tone sandhi are weak.3.The learners at the advanced stage have a much better grasp of monosyllabic tone and third tone sandhi than those at the intermediate stage,and have a strong awareness and ability of third tone sandhi.4.The learners at the advanced stage can better master the tone sandhi types of the two-character group,such as the tone sandhi on the front word,and the three-character group,such as "single and double",and still have different degrees of misreading in other tone sandhi types.In view of the above errors and their causes,we will put forward some corresponding teaching strategies to help Indonesian Chinese learners better grasp the rules of third tone sandhi. |
