| National cultural image is the overall recognition and evaluation of a country’s cultural values,traditions,behaviors and achievements by the public at home and abroad.It can build cultural confidence for the public at home.And create a friendlier international image for the public at abroad.Establishing an excellent national cultural image plays an important role in enabling the public to have a correct understanding of China.As a part of national soft power,animation has the advantages of wide audience and strong cross-cultural communication,which is of great help to national cultural image building.However,judging from the status quo of domestic animation ratings in recent years,it is difficult for most animations to break out of the dilemma of narrowing "nationalization" into a return to traditional culture,regardless of whether there are dramas or movies that are widely loved,but they only symbolize and graphically present traditional culture in animations.Therefore,it is of great significance for the improvement of Chinese animation to analyze the expression ways of national cultural images from other countries and learn from them.In the animation to show the national cultural image of China,too blunt into the national cultural image into the animation is often one of the problems that make animation boring.Metaphor,as one of the important methods of film and television language expression,its aesthetic characteristics are suitable for a wide range of national cultural image summary.At the same time,the way that metaphor tactfully stitches ideology into animation is also suitable to solve the problem that ideology integration is too blunt.Compared with animated films and dramas,Japanese short animation is freer in creation style and closer to the essence of animation,which is suitable for study.Koji Yamamura,as a famous Japanese master of short animation,often uses absurd expression techniques to metaphorise realistic problems in his mature works.From the comparison between his awards and other Japanese animation masters,it can be seen that Koji Yamamura’s use of metaphor techniques is skilled enough,with certain representability and research value.Starting from the two key words of national cultural image and metaphor,centering on their related overview and definition,this paper analyzes how Koji Yamamura integrates his self-image and international image into his animation from three aspects: type metaphor,text metaphor and context metaphor.In the paper,the first chapter mainly tells the source of the subject,expounds the research status at home and abroad,and refines the research purpose,methods and innovation points.The second chapter mainly expounds the relevant definitions of metaphor and national cultural image.On the one hand,through the change of the definition and characteristics of metaphor in the historical stage,it further analyzes the basic concepts and structures of the three types of film metaphor that are most similar to animation metaphor: type metaphor,text metaphor and context metaphor.On the other hand,it analyzes the advantages of animation in promoting national cultural image.The third chapter brings the genre metaphor,text metaphor and context metaphor into Koji Yamamura’s works,and analyzes how Koji Yamamura uses metaphor in the aspects of role,scene,movement rule and music.The fourth chapter mainly analyzes how Koji Yamamura builds the international image of self-image in his animations from the aspects of animation theme,story selection and character creation.The fifth chapter focuses on the creation of the author’s short animated film Autumn Harvest,showing the practical achievements of the construction of national cultural image in the creation of short animated films under the metaphorical approach.Based on the theoretical discussion of metaphor and national cultural image by Duan Yundong,Sun Yingchun,Chen Shiyang and other scholars,this paper analyzes the metaphor with examples and summarizes the experience through practice.It can be found that the use of metaphor is beneficial to integrate national cultural image into animation,which can not only solve certain barriers of cross-cultural communication,but also enrich the levels of animation.Avoid the dull feeling of national cultural image when it is too rigid. |
