Pixar Animated Short Film Art Research

Taking Pixar animated short films as the research subject,this thesis deeply explores the artistic characteristics of Pixar animated short films.In the introduction,the paper analyzes and combs the present situation of the artistic characteristics of the Pixar short films and determines the value and significance of studying the artistic characteristics of those films,so as to clarify the research contents and ideas.In the first chapter,the scattered and fragmented Pixar animated short films are integrated through sorting out the existing short films from the macro point of view.Besides,according to the longitudinal order of time,the development of Pixar animated short films is divided into three stages so as to summarize their development rules and technical characteristics,and the types of short films are concluded.The second chapter starts from the details to analyze the artistic characteristics of Pixar animated short films and conduct an in-depth discussion from the aspects of the characters,structure and theme that constitute the narration,and the color,sound and composition elements that constitute the seeing and hearing.It is expected to seek for the dream building methods of Pixar animated short films through extracting their artistic characteristics.In the third chapter,Pixar animated short films are included into the aesthetic and cultural value field to discover the artistic characteristics displayed in value system and dig out the cultural value and intrinsic aesthetic value outside Pixar animated short films.Ultimately,the last chapter summarizes the advantages of Pixar animated short films from four aspects of content,technology,audience and communication,thus providing enlightenment for the development of China's animated short films.
