| All over the country,the curriculum reform of basic education is being actively promoted,and ethnic minority areas are following suit to accelerate the corresponding reform of basic education.Ethnic minority areas are relatively slow to start and develop English teaching.At the same time,there is a lack of understanding of English teaching in this particular area.On the basis of fully combing the literature at home and abroad,this study is based on the theory of transitional language,the theory of third language acquisition,the theory of multicultural education and the theory of constructivism.Taking the fourth middle school and the sixth middle school in Jiashi County,Xinjiang as the survey objects,on the basis of literature research,observation,questionnaire survey,interview and other research methods,this paper investigates the English teaching policy,teaching status and subjective and objective influencing factors in ethnic areas.It is found that the English teaching policy is not perfect,the teaching quality needs to be improved,the construction of teachers is insufficient,the English textbooks are not adapted to local conditions,and the teaching foundation lacks cognitive basis.After-school homework arrangement is unreasonable,home-school cooperation is not close,the teaching environment still needs to be optimized and so on a series of problems.Through the classification and analysis of the above problems,the reasons are deeply explored,and the corresponding optimization strategies are proposed.In terms of policy formulation,government departments should formulate English teaching policies according to local conditions,classify and unify the teaching system of each school,and formulate English curriculum system in line with the actual situation of ethnic students to improve English teaching policies;in terms of teaching quality,English teaching quality can be improved by trying to construct English curriculum system,implementing English teaching in different levels,changing students ’ learning motivation and cooperating with each other.In the construction of the teaching staff,the professional level of the teaching staff is guaranteed by means of multi-channel and diversified teacher training,improving the cross-cultural awareness of English teachers,and improving the safeguard measures of training.In the development of English textbook materials,we should pay attention to the diversity of value in the text content,pay attention to the localization of textbooks and promote the internalization of knowledge,carefully design the teaching content,and integrate the textbooks to ensure the local conditions of English textbooks.In terms of students ’ English learning environment,starting from the family environment and the school teaching material environment,a democratic,open and harmonious teaching environment is constructed by creating a diversified language communication environment,optimizing material conditions,and making full use of modern teaching resources to improve parents ’ ideological understanding of English. |
