During the Renaissance,the rise of capitalism,the decline of the feudal class and the development of science and technology promoted painting to become an independent art subject.During this period,poetics and painting were re-integrated,forming a choice within a comprehensive symbol system of subject matter,concept and social level.Shakespeare’s Macbeth reveals the corrosion of power and desire on human nature through the description of the protagonist’s process from the initiation of desire to regicide and usurpation to the fall of his head.The works contain a large number of painting factors.This thesis attempts to feel the commonality between the visual art of painting and the literary language art through the interdisciplinary research between literature and painting,to show the painterliness of literature,and to understand the aesthetic taste and spiritual implications of Shakespeare’s tragedies in the middle and late Renaissance.By summarizing Shakespeare and his tragedy "Macbeth" and combing the domestic and foreign research reviews,this thesis determines the research thinking of literary pictorial interpretation.Firstly,it focuses on the composition and analyzes the picture design of the drama from the three perspectives of space setting,visual layout and painting skills,such as the geographical space with wasteland,battlefield and castle as the main body,the social space with the environmental society in which the author lives and the text society expressed by the work as the content,and the time dynamic space composed by the narrative space of the text.Combined with the externalized mental mapping space of Macbeth’s dream hanging knife and Lady Macbeth’s hand washing blood frequently,they jointly show the painterliness of the text space setting.The author draws on the inverted triangle composition of imbalance and reversal,combines the composition prototype of myth and religion,and uses the technique of focal perspective to reflect the illusion of witches,ghosts and other real pictures on the outside and inside,showing the painterliness of the text visually.Secondly,it focuses on color,depicting a picture mainly composed of red,black and white,mixed with various or opposite or mixed warm and cold colors.Through color metaphor and image symbol,it highlights the contradiction and complexity of society and human nature.Finally,it focuses on light and shadow,synthesizes light and shadow and perspective in painting,starts from the sanctity and reality of light and shadow,combines the specific expression of light and shade contrast in text and the Gothic atmosphere sense of light to explain the painterliness of text.Shakespeare used composition,line,color,light and other forms of painting and techniques,combining visual language and text language.It not only endows the drama with a strong sense of painting beauty at the level of text form,but also integrates painting art into the timeline of text narration,which has a strong artistic effect and reflects the integration of literature art and painting art.
