The Study And Application In Poetic Expressions Of Sanyu’s Oil Paintings

As one of the most outstanding Chinese artists that studied overseas,Sanyu’s creation of integrating poetic and picturesque feelings into Western oil painting materials has profound practical significance for creators nowadays.Sanyu blends freehand brushwork,metaphor,and line drawing in traditional brush and ink into his oil paintings,broadening the interpretation horizon of Western painting materials and highlighting the unique oriental sentiment.Originating from the poetic background of traditional Chinese art,he has run through his entire artistic career.He has the characteristics of brush and ink of traditional Chinese art with simple and abstract expression skills.He integrates Chinese and Western arts in a poetic way of expression.Western oil paintings add a touch of elegance and simplicity from the East.Most of the previous studies investigated the similarities and differences between his artistic style and other artists,but rarely analyzed the oriental poetic expressions in his oil paintings.Therefore,this topic is selected to conduct research on this point.This topic analyzes Sanyu’s representative oil paintings through art psychology and image analysis methods,and explores the unique poetic expressions in his oil paintings and the oriental style he conveys.At the same time,combined with the Chinese art training that Sanyu received when he grew up,it illustrates the reasons for the establishment of poetic expressions in his oil paintings.There are four parts in this article.Apart from the introduction,the second part is: The internal causes of the establishment of poetic expressions in Sanyu’s oil paintings,combined with his early sketches,discussing his calligraphic poetic expressions;The third part is: Use oil painting materials to convey the poetic expressions of oriental aesthetics,and analyze the poetic images and lyrical painting language contained in Sanyu’s works through nude paintings and still life paintings of Sanyu;The fourth part is: The practice of poetic expressions in the "Floating" series,exploring the practical significance of the poetic expressions in his works to creators in today’s era.
