| With the advancement of basic education reform in China,English teaching concept in compulsory education stage is undergoing a series of changes.Researchers have also carried out new research and innovation on the problems existing in English reading teaching in primary schools.Primary School English reading teaching is no longer limited to the understanding of textbook content and the accuracy of after-class exercises.More importantly,teachers should focus on the design of English reading teaching.And in this process,teachers should pay attention to two aspects of training,namely the teaching of English reading strategies and the cultivation of the ability to read English materials.English picture books are an effective carrier to achieve this goal.Based on this,under the guidance of Gagne’s nine-step theory of teaching design,the teaching design of picture books is studied.This study takes multiple contexts: the English curriculum standards emphasize the teaching of English reading;picture books that contribute to the achievement of English reading teaching goals;the applicability of Gagne’s theory of instructional design;teaching English requires dealing with the relationship between presets and generations.Consider the necessity and feasibility of reading instructional design.The author systematically analyzes the relevant literature at home and abroad,and use the interview method and case analysis method to carry out research.Through interviews with front-line teachers and analysis of more than ten cases of English picture book teaching design,we learned about the current primary school stage.Front-line teachers have some problems in the design of picture book reading instruction.The introduction before class lacks attractiveness;the teaching objectives of the course are not clearly explained;the teacher fails to provide effective guidance;the classroom exercises fail to achieve the teaching goals;the results of the students’ practice do not receive effective feedback;and the knowledge transfer and development are limited.In order to solve the problems in the teaching design of English picture book reading at the primary school level.Starting from the characteristic attributes of picture books,guiding by the nine steps of Gagne’s teaching design,.Some teaching design strategies to solve problems are proposed from the first,middle and last paragraphs of the English picture book reading course.Such as set the import to cause learning attention carefully;tell the learning objectives of the lesson to students;stimulate the students to recall the existing knowledge;present stimulating material which related to the teaching content;provide students with learning guidance during the teaching process;assign exercises to help students achieve their learning goals;give students timely feedback on the results of practice;evaluate students’ reading achievements of picture books;cultivate students’ knowledge transfer ability. |
