How Do Actors Present Unfinished Language In Script Lines

Drama is a dramatic form with characters’ dialogue and actions as the main means of expression.Actors should carefully ponder their lines and actions,and strive to enable the audience to clearly and accurately understand the thoughts and thoughts of the characters and understand the essence and connotation of a play.In the script,in addition to the lines spoken by the characters,there are many unfinished meanings,and the relationship between the two is like the water surface and the undercurrent,the silent language(undercurrent)has been surging under the lines,giving each dialogue full and rich emotional power,which together constitute a strong support for the actions of the characters.Combined with my own graduation drama "Secret Love" rehearsal experience,the author found that the characters dialogue punctuation symbols in the ellipses implied a lot of inner language.Because they do not appear in the form of words,it is easy for actors to ignore the hidden meaning of the punctuation marks in the lines when analyzing the script,resulting in problems such as inadequateunderstanding of the situation,inaccurate characterization,and poor expression of words in the process of shaping the characters.Therefore,this paper will combine the rehearsals of Secret Love in the drama Secret Love in Peach Blossom Land by the famous Taiwan director Lai Shengchuan,summarize the methods of actors to analyze the unfinished meaning in the script lines,and record the experience in the rehearsal process,so as to guide the subsequent rehearsal.
