The promulgation and implementation of the "double reduction" policy has placed higher demands on the quality of classroom teaching.The focus of optimising classroom teaching is on reducing the learning burden of students and improving the quality of classroom teaching.The core of the programme is to guide students in active learning and to develop their core qualities as well as their comprehensive practical skills,thereby promoting their individual and holistic development.The key to the implementation of the new curriculum lies in teaching reform,and modern information technology plays an important supporting role in promoting the innovation of educational concepts and the reform of teaching methods.Smart teaching has injected new elements into the English classroom,and the precise teaching methods have improved students’ learning efficiency,reduced their burden,and brought new changes and enhancements to classroom teaching.Based on this,this paper constructs a wisdom teaching model for primary school English in the context of "double reduction" and tests the effectiveness of the English wisdom teaching model in classroom teaching through teaching practice.Firstly,on the basis of literature review,this study clarifies the concepts of intelligent teaching,"double reduction" and teaching according to ability,and discusses the multiple intelligence theory,contextual cognitive theory and blended learning theory.The theoretical and practical status of the English wisdom teaching model is sorted out to provide a basis and reference for the construction of the model.Secondly,under the guidance of relevant learning theories and the problems found in the research on the current situation of English teaching in primary schools,the principles of the model are extracted and the English wisdom teaching model is constructed in the context of "double reduction".The model consists of four main parts: pre-implementation analysis,teaching objectives,teaching process and teaching evaluation.The model was then applied to the teaching practice,taking the listening and speaking lesson in Unit 3,Part A of English for Grade 5 of the Humanities Edition as an example,and the teaching practice was carried out in the order of before,during and after the lesson.Research methods such as quasi-experimental method,questionnaire method and interview method were integrated to verify the effectiveness of the teaching model.Finally,at the end of the experimental phase,a pre-and post-test,a learning experience questionnaire and interviews with teachers and students in the experimental classes were used to find out whether there were any changes in students’ knowledge,learning efficiency,interest in learning and academic performance under the English Smart Teaching Model in primary schools.Through descriptive statistics and independent sample t-tests,the analysis shows that the application of the English Smart Teaching Model in primary schools under the context of "double reduction" can improve students’ overall interest in learning English,learning efficiency,learning performance and mastery of classroom knowledge,promote students’ personalised learning,and bring students a It also promotes students’ personalised learning and provides them with a better learning experience.
