From the end of the 19th century to now,the development of musicals has experienced a history of more than 100 years. The musical "Hua Mulan" is based on the Yuefu folk song "Mulan Ci" sung during the Northern and Southern Dynasties in China."I Hope" is selected from the original musical "Hua Mulan" by the Chinese Song and Dance Theater. It is a piece of music sung by the heroine during her "appearance" in the play. This piece has a large range,a slow melody, and a high difficulty in mastering singing skills and emotions. It is worth in-depth analysis and learning by musical learners. This article starts with the creative background of the musical "Hua Mulan",taking "I Hope" as an example, analyzes the singing analysis and role modeling of this song, and combines the author’s own singing learning experience.Currently, there is relatively little research on the excerpt "I Hope" from the musical "Hua Mulan" in China, and I hope to provide some help to musical learners and enthusiasts through this article.
