Adult attachment is developed from parent-child attachment,which refers to the relatively stable personality traits with differences.Adult attachment can be measured from two dimensions: attachment anxiety and attachment avoidance.By calculating the scores of the two dimensions,individuals can be divided into secure attachment and insecure attachment.Empathy refers to the feeling and understanding of other people’s emotions and opinions in interpersonal situations,and making appropriate responses.Empathy can be divided into cognitive empathy and affective empathy,cognitive empathy is a top-down process,affective empathy is a bottom-up process,cognitive empathy is acquired and gradually developed,affective empathy is innate,empathy can improve the probability of individual prosocial behavior.The two dimensions of adult attachment have different effects on empathy and prosocial behavior.Theoretically,attachment anxiety may interfere with or inhibit empathy and prosocial behavior,while practical studies have found that attachment anxiety may promote or reduce individual empathy and pro-social behavior.In theory and practice,attachment avoidance inhibits empathy and prosocial behavior.Through literature review,this study intends to examine the impact of adult attachment on prosocial behavior tendency,analyze the role of empathy between adult attachment and prosocial behavior tendency,and further explore the impact of empathy training on adult attachment and prosocial behavior tendency.This study is planned to achieve the purpose of the study through two sub-studies.In the first study,997 college students in Wuhan were selected to explore the relationship between adult attachment and prosocial behavior tendency and empathy level.Through certain screening criteria,the researcher selected 24 subjects from the subjects voluntarily enrolled in the first study.The sample empathy level was relatively average.12 subjects were randomly assigned to the intervention group,and the intervention group was given empathy training group intervention.The other 12 subjects were assigned to the waiting group,and no intervention was given.The pre-test and post-test data of the intervention group and the control group,the follow-up data of the intervention group after 1 month were collected for statistical analysis.The results of the two studies show that there is a significant correlation between adult attachment,empathy and prosocial behavior tendency of college students.Attachment avoidance of college students negatively predicts empathy and prosocial behavior tendency,attachment anxiety and empathy positively predict prosocial behavior tendency,attachment anxiety positively predicts empathy,and empathy of college students mediates the relationship between adult attachment and prosocial behavior tendency.Empathy training and group counseling can effectively improve the level of individual empathy,thereby improving prosocial behavior tendency.The conclusion of this study is that the adult attachment of college students will not only directly affect their prosocial behavior tendency,but also indirectly affect their prosocial behavior tendency through the impact on empathy,and by improving the level of empathy of college students,it can effectively increase their prosocial behavior tendency. |
