Research On The Composition Of Cao Guanyu’s "Double Tone Suite"

This paper takes the piano Suite in Two Tones created by young composer Cao Guanyu as the research object,and makes an in-depth discussion around the life of the characters,music analysis,national characteristics and other points of the work.Based on the previous scholars’ research on the Chinese piano suite and the Chinese and Western two-tone techniques,this paper explores the two-tone techniques used in the work.The works reflect the composer’s mastery of Chinese folk tunes and his pursuit of modern music composition techniques.The composer uses opera Qupai elements in his works,which reflects the return to tradition and the innovation of modern techniques.At the same time,the author analyzes the characteristics of the works and the composer’s creation style,and explores the traditional implications of contemporary piano works.This paper is divided into three parts: introduction,text and conclusion.The introduction clarifies the research background and significance of the two-tone Suite,and understands the characters’ life and creation background.Through the analysis of domestic and foreign literature,the basic idea of this paper is generated.The first chapter analyzes the five ditties from the perspective of musical analysis,musical structure and creative techniques,and summarizes the characteristics of each piece.The second chapter explores how the works reflect the composer’s thinking of "double tone",the double interpretation of double tone from the perspective of the combination of music and literature,the understanding of the historical development of double tone in the field of music and literature,and the research of double tone from three aspects: music development materials,modern polyphony techniques,Canon imitation and complex counterpoint.The third chapter is the research on the characteristics of ethnic creation of the works.The composer draws lessons from the tunes of ethnic minority music and analyzes the connection between the works and opera music and Qupai music.The conclusion summarizes the content of the full text,and through a comprehensive analysis of the composition structure and features of the work,demonstrates the doubletone technique innovation and artistic value of this work in Chinese piano suite music.
