Merleau Ponty’s body phenomenology theory believes that space first refers to the spatiality of the body itself.As an inherent characteristic of the body,it is inseparable from the body and becomes the hub connecting people with the outside world.Since the birth of children,their body space has constantly occupied the external space through their own activities,thus expanding their actual Lebensraum,and opening up different virtual or imaginary spaces according to their own imagination.In these different spaces,"body",as a constant intermediary,engages in different specific situations through intentional body movements,and perceives,understands,expresses,and creates in these spaces,Gain different aesthetic experiences.Based on Merleau Ponty’s body phenomenology theory,this paper explores the cultivation of children’s aesthetic literacy in space,taking the body as the starting point of aesthetic activities,and placing art criticism and creation in a dynamic and living body.The first chapter introduces the body in Merleau Ponty’s phenomenology theory and the body as the medium of understanding the world;Chapter 2 explores the evolution of children’s body symbolization under certain spatial constraints;Chapter 3 elaborates on exploring the three dimensions of cultivating children’s spatial aesthetic literacy,starting from the body as the main body for spatial perception,experience,expression,and creation.In short,as the starting point of art,the body perceives the surrounding environment through the mutual cooperation of many of our own organs,and takes on all artistic practices through physical behavior.Therefore,the cultivation of children’s spatial aesthetic literacy should enable them to perceive,experience,and create space from the perspective of "body subject" on the basis of experiencing their own physical spatial existence.Through cognition and practice,they should gradually possess multidimensional aesthetic abilities such as spatial aesthetic perception ability,spatial aesthetic expression ability,spatial aesthetic application and analysis ability,and spatial aesthetic creation ability,Ultimately,in spatial aesthetic activities,one can restore a free and fearless state of innocence,and on the basis of possessing the aforementioned abilities,one can use these abilities to handle related issues,internalizing their spatial aesthetic experience and abilities into spatial aesthetic qualities.
