With the continuous progress of network technology and the acceleration of media integration,network dramas born around 2010 have gradually got rid of the label of "shoddy production" in the early days and started to make efforts in the direction of high-quality genre dramas after nearly ten years of development.In this context,i QIYI’s mystery drama brand "Mist Theater" stands out from the crowd of online self-made dramas and becomes the representative of the new generation of online self-made dramas.The episodes of "Mist Theater" are short episodes of less than 20 episodes,which has come into the public eye as a representative of the new generation of online self-made dramas in the form of innovation.The success of "Fog Theater" has set an industry benchmark for suspense webisodes and promoted innovation in form and content in the field.Under the background of the development of new media,the analysis of the narrative strategy of "Mist Theater" suspense short plays has important reference significance for improving the quality of the new generation of type online self-made plays.Based on the theories of classical narratology,this paper analyzes the narrative strategies of "Mist Theater" in suspense network miniseries from four aspects.First of all,it is included into the category of TV series with specific themes,to sort out the basic evolution of this type of TV series and the changes of narrative characteristics,thus highlighting the new changes in the narrative of suspense network miniseries.Combined with the new cultural background in the network era,it introduces how i QIYI "Mist Theater" breaks out from the operation mode of the same type of theater.Secondly,from the perspective of suspense narration,this paper discusses the characteristics of the narrative modes of the suspense network short plays of "Mist Theater" and how these narrative modes achieve the purpose of constructing suspense.Thirdly,from the perspective of suspense stories,this paper discusses how the plot,characters and environment of suspense network miniseries constitute its suspense narrative and generate its meaning.Fourth,summarize the existing deficiencies of "Mist Theater" suspense network miniseries,and look forward to its development direction on the basis of putting forward corresponding solutions.
