| Since the reform and opening up,China’s dramatic social transformation has brought new opportunities for the development of urban Catholicism.A large number of highly educated young people and human resources with professional skills have flooded into cities from universities and villages throughout the country.Urbanization has not only created many "hollow villages" and "hollow churches",but also enabled churches in cities to share the dividends of the development of The Times and gain rapid development. As a religious anthropology study, this study takes the Catholic Church in Amoy as the research object. In terms of specific content, the first chapter of this paper uses the internal discourse system of Catholics to divide groups, and maps the group structure of Catholics in Amoy from the perspective of "the other" itself, and then analyzes the relevant behavior characteristics of Catholics living in the city. The second chapter focuses on the picture of the communion and coexistence of the holy and the secular in the Amoy church.Taking the unique nine-day ritual system of the Amoy diocese, holy water,Moon-cake gambling and the donation in the urban church as the path, the complex relationship between "holy" and "secular" in the urban church is discussed in the theoretical framework of global regionalization and secularization. The third chapter focuses on the phenomenon that the Catholics in Xiamen area are far from the traditional Catholic confession ceremony and analyzes the embarrassing situation of the traditional Catholic ethical system in the contemporary urban secular life from the perspective of cultural perspective. The study shows that although urban modernity inevitably leads to the secularization of religion, the holy nature of religion has not regressed to the end.The Holy spirit and the secular present a delicate state of communion and coexistence in the religious life of the local faithful. In addition,as an important network node of the universal church, urban churches also assume the function of hosting, cultivating, and deepening the faith of members. |
