| Under the influence of the epidemic and due to the separation of space and time,the interaction between teachers and students is insufficient,it is difficult to control students’ learning engagements,and it is impossible to enhance and guarantee students’ English learning outcomes.This paper examines the status of engagements and influencing factors.In this paper,the questionnaire survey method is used.In accordance with the self-designed scale,314 valid questionnaires were gathered.An examination of students,online learning engagement,and influencing factors from the perspectives of behavioral engagement,emotional engagement,cognitive engagement,and agentic engagement,as well as the application of descriptive statistical analysis,correlation analysis,and regression analysis,to examine and discuss students’ engagement in English online learning and its influencing factors.Finally,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)The overall English online learning engagement of the research subjects is above the average level,with little variation across all dimensions;(2)Among the pre-set influencing factors,data analysis of the English online learning environment reveals that the engagement of English online learning in non-English majors differs from the engagement in the actual classroom learning environment;(3)The factors influencing the level of participation in actual learning environment> internal motivation> external motivation> positive academic emotion> peer relationships.Based on the findings of the aforementioned research,the following recommendations are made to enhance the engagement level of English online learning for non-English major college students:(1)Realizing the home-school union,and creating a good learning environment to improve students’ focus on English online learning;(2)Taking incentive measures to stimulate students’ motivation for English online learning;(3)Establishing the personalized learning tasks,fully mobilize students’ enthusiasm for online learning;(4)Students should focus more on the maintenance of peer relationships at this juncture and encourage one another in order to make progress together. |
