| The United States is one of the countries that contribute financial assistance to several other nations throughout the world.These nations include Afghanistan,Ethiopia,Israel,Egypt,and South Sudan.They shell out billions of dollars every year for humanitarian aid.As was mentioned earlier,the purpose of this aid is to assist the countries in becoming more self-sufficient and advanced.Beginning with the signing of Camp David,the peace deal with Israel,Egypt became eligible for financial assistance from the United States of America.In addition,during the Arab Spring,this Aid began to move in a different direction.Every year or two years,we can see in the newspaper that the United States will "cut off the aid" or "they will suspend the aid," and at the same time as the revolution,we saw that the purpose of the American government is to be pragmatic.They have provided Egypt with assistance and aid for the past 43 years;Egypt was selected since it is one of the most influential countries in north Africa and Arab countries.It has been asserted that Egypt is a pivotal nation for African and Arab nations due to the soft power advantages that the country possesses.This study will help supply information that is comprehensive and wellrounded,as well as a complete picture of the scenario.It contributes additional ideas and ways to deal with the consequences created by the aid,as well as helping to undertake more countermeasures to avoid further adverse aid situations.One of the most dynamic forms of international aid will be the subject of discussion,study,and analysis in this project.More specifically,it will investigate the time after 2011(when the Egyptian revolution took place)and up until 2022 when it comes to Egypt’s foreign aid or development support from the United States.This Aid’s influence on the political and economic climate in Egypt will be the primary topic of discussion in this dissertation.Did the Assistance Contribute to the Country’s Increasing Development? To have a greater degree of autonomy in our financial situation? The purpose of this study is to attempt to answer one research question,which is as follows: What influence has the development assistance provided by the United States after 2011 had on Egypt?Since the signing of the treaty at Camp David,the United States has,as far as I can tell,never stopped repeating that statement(Egypt is our alley,the U.S.will help build the Egyptian economy and support it).In fact,it did not benefit the Egyptian economy,but it did help build the economy of the United States.However,Egypt does not receive financial support from the United States.In contrast to Israel,which accepts financial aid in the form of money and invests it in the areas of economic development that would have the most impact,Egypt does not do this.Conversely,Egypt receives aid in the form of things made in the United States.Therefore,to put it more simply,Egypt has credit in the United States,and it is aiding credit,but Egypt is unable to withdraw this credit;Egypt is required to utilize this money to purchase products from the United States factories.For further clarity,when it comes to military support,Egypt utilizes this money to buy American military war weapons such as tanks and warplanes and even spare parts for these weapons.Thus,the local American military companies receive this money as payment for their services.The more that Egypt spends,the newer people they will hire for their workforce;as a result,the unemployment rate and poverty level will decrease,and the vitality of the American economy will increase.Since its inception about a half-century ago,this cyclical process has been ongoing.Therefore,the American side will be the one to suffer the consequences if this aid is cut off,rather than the Egyptian side.This study was divided into five chapters: chapter one is the introductory part,which explains the whole idea of the study and this idea is how did the U.S.foreign aid affect Egypt in many fields starting from 2011 till 2022,including the background of the study,research question,main argument of the study,the significance of the study and why it is so essential,the objectives of the study,and the reasons for writing this study.It also included the academic breakthrough,the methodology,and the methods used to conduct this study.The literature review is also included to see how the previous scholars discussed this issue,how they looked at it,and their perspectives.In the second chapter,we talked about the current state of U.S.aid to Egypt after2011,focusing on the requirements that the United States placed on Egypt in order to receive help,particularly conditions regarding human rights.In addition to this,we discussed the current situation with the NGOs in Egypt as well as the balance in the Middle East region by examining these circumstances through the lens of a variety of Egyptian and American presidents,focusing on the actions taken by presidents of the United States and the responses of Egyptian governments at the relevant junctures.Comparative research was conducted to analyze how different presidents,such as Barack Obama during the revolutionary period,Mohamed Morsi as president,and el Sisi as president,handled the situation during their terms in office.We also looked at the steps taken by Trump and Joe Biden,as well as how the Egyptian government responded to those acts.In chapter three,we analyzed how the action and the reaction of each of the governments affected the economic and political situation in Egypt,starting from Barack Obama to the Joe Biden regime,and this is in the period from 2011 to 2022.We also discussed and analyzed the privileges that America took from Egypt during the same interval of time.Chapter four,after stating,analyzing,and discussing the reasons behind the Egyptian affected economic and political situation and how this aid affected the internal and external policies,gave suggestions and recommended some countermeasures and solutions that will help to retrieve the economic and political situation.This study ends with the fifth and final chapter,which presents the author’s reflections and author’s opinion on the results discovered throughout the course of the investigation. |
