Xi Jinping’s Discussion On The Essence Of Socialism Since The 18th National Congress Of The CPC

To ask anything,the first thing is to figure out “what it is”,and then go on to ask“why” and “how”.The essence of socialism is to answer the question of “what is socialism”,which is the meta-question of the theory of socialism with Chinese characteristics and the core of Marxist exploration.Since the 18th CPC National Congress,Xi Jinping has always faced this difficult problem,inherited the ideological and theoretical achievements of previous generations,based on the new practice of the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics and the new changes in the international situation,puts forward five important discourses: “Realizing common prosperity is the essential requirement of socialism”,“The leadership of the Communist Party of China is the essential characteristic of socialism with Chinese characteristics”,“Shareable development is the essential requirement of socialism with Chinese characteristics”,“Advancing law-based governance is the essential requirement of socialism with Chinese characteristics” and “Liberating and developing the social productive forces is the essential requirement of socialism”.The essential features and essential requirements belong to the external appearance of the essence and reflect the essence.The essential requirements of socialism embody a universal essence,the essential features and requirements of socialism with Chinese characteristics are relatively concrete in nature,which is the socialist essence that Xi Jinping has endowed with Chinese characteristics and characteristics of the times.By putting forward the basis,the concrete connotation and the practical significance of these essential discourses,the following three conclusions are drawn:First,by clarifying the internal relations among the discourses,clearly realizing common prosperity is the goal of socialist value,and the other four discourses are the means to realize this goal,which is gradually coupled into a systematized whole through certain internal relations.Second,Xi’s discourse on the nature of socialism played a fundamental role in Xi’s thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era,the degree of development of Xi Jinping’s thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era also affects the advancement of the understanding of the essence of socialism.Third,as the cornerstone of the theory of socialism with Chinese characteristics,because of the renewal of its own connotation and the great enrichment of Deng Xiaoping’s theory of the essence of socialism,Xi’s discourse on the nature of socialism has played a fundamental role in bringing about a new leap in the sinicization of Marxism.Xi’s exposition on the nature of socialism not only develops the theory of the nature of socialism,but also greatly enriches the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics,it will pave the way for how to adhere to and develop socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era,set a benchmark and point out the direction.
