Facing the unprecedented changes in the world in a hundred years,China’s foreign communication industry has ushered in a rare historical opportunity and also faced major challenges.It is an important task to strengthen the construction of China’s international communication capacity to tell the story of China,spread the voice of China,and display a true,three-dimensional and comprehensive China.However,in the centuries of modernization and globalization dominated by the West,the mainstream channel of international communication is western,the main body of communicators is western,and the mainstream values of communication are also western.In this international communication pattern of "strong in the west and weak in the west",China does not have the advantages to spread China’s voice,value and culture well.With the rise of emerging media and We-media communication technology,the international communication discourse system and public opinion pattern we are facing have also undergone major changes.At present,Tik Tok,as a global social media platform for China’s "going out",has gathered users from all over the world,providing a new stage for the story of China.This study uses the high-low context cultural theory and visual narrative theory,selects354 popular short videos related to the Chinese story on the Tik Tok platform as the research sample,discusses the current situation of the dissemination of Chinese stories on overseas social media platforms through text analysis,literature research,and other methods,and then deeply analyzes the current effect of the dissemination of Chinese stories on the Tik Tok platform in combination with 3406 highly praised first-level comments from users of the platform.On this basis,we will further reflect on the shortcomings and underlying causes of the current Chinese story dissemination,and put forward reasonable suggestions.The specific arrangement is as follows: The article is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction which lays the foundation for the full text;The second chapter focuses on the current situation of the external communication of China’s stories on the Tik Tok platform,and carries out in-depth analysis from three aspects: the main body of the communication,the content of the communication and the communication strategy,so as to understand what kind of Chinese stories the Tik Tok platform presents and how to spread them;The third chapter explores the dissemination effect of Tik Tok platform’s Chinese stories from the audience’s viewing preferences and emotional tendencies;The fourth chapter analyzes the highlights and shortcomings of Chinese story communication on the Tik Tok platform,and explores the causes behind the dilemma of Chinese story communication;Finally,on the basis of the previous research,the fifth chapter proposes optimization strategies to improve the communication environment of Chinese stories in overseas social media,strengthen the construction of international communication capacity,comprehensively improve the international communication efficiency,and form an international discourse right that matches China’s comprehensive national strength and international status.Therefore,the external dissemination of Chinese stories should focus on credibility(credibility),closeness(lovability),respect(respect)and other aspects,which is really the pain point of China’s international communication.To tell the Chinese story well is not only to tell stories and tell stories,but also to do practical things and solve problems,and make the people of the world believe in the power of China’s plan through actions.
